Well, fuck. You.

THIRTEEN

THREE DAYS LATER

SCAR

The annoying sound of the doorbell interrupts me. Groaning in annoyance, I set my palette and brush down on my desk. Walking over to my radio, I turn down "Pieces" by Red and walk down the stairs toward the front door.

My whole body is frozen. I don't think I'm even breathing. My pulse beats against my ears, blocking out all other noise. The one person I thought I would never see again is standing on my front porch in a pair of dark skinny jeans, brown boots, and a light fall leather jacket that ends at her hips. She looks the same, but her red wavy hair is styled into a bob.

Anger thaws out my shock, and I whip the door open.

"What thefuckare you doing here?" I hiss at the person who was responsible for our family falling apart.

"I need to talk to you," she whispers.

I step onto the porch, forcing her to take a few steps back. I slam the door shut, glaring at Tiffany, my brother's ex-girlfriend.

"What the fuck do you have to talk to me about. You slept with my father!" I yell, holding back the urge to slap the stupid out of her.

"It wasn't like that, I swear. I would never do anything to hurt Seth…" she cries.

"Don't. Ever. Say. His. Name. You lost that right whenyoudecided to fuck around with a married man, let alone our father." I can't believe she had the guts to appear on my doorstep.

"Please. I never planned for this to happen," she continues.

"Stop talking."

God, please stop talking.

"Scar." Her voice trembles.

"I can't do this." I clench my teeth. "You need to leave."

She doesn't move, but her tears keep on falling. I want to choke life out of her for her betrayal.

"Please, Scar. I wanted to say how sorry I am." She sobs, wiping her tears with her hands. “But there’s so much more that you need to know.”

"Just go," I whisper, barely containing my emotions from exploding like a volcano.

My gut is tightening.

It feels like I have an ulcer.

The pain is too much.

Looking at her, all I can think about is how much she hurt my brother, which led to his death.

"Please, Scar. You have to listen to me.That nightwas not what it looked like."

And that's when I break.

"Are you serious right now? Just fucking go!" I scream in her face.

She flinches and takes another step back. I look up to the sky, wishing God would strike me down before I kill this bitch with my bare hands. I roughly run my fingers through my hair and let out a defeated scream. Once I gather my thoughts, keeping my demon locked up, I finally find my words.

"He loved you so much it hurt him because he was scared it would drive you away. He was going to propose to you; did you know that?"
