I zoned out when Vegas handcuffed me to his bedpost and gagged me.

There wasn’t a fucking thing I could do but survive the night and plan my revenge. I would cut off their dicks and make them scream like pigs for what they did to me.

And I would never trust Rocky again. Or any man, for that matter. They were all selfish assholes like my father.

Storm

My old man looked weak and pathetic, sitting before me at my goddamn table in church. I’d forced him to come to Minnesota for a meeting. He’d pushed back, refusing at first, but in the end, he came. If he hadn’t, he wouldn’t ever see me or his grandchildren again. I was confident Jane, his wife, also had something to do with his coming.

Years ago, we’d found common ground after he’d supported me when my Angel had been taken by the Dirty Hunters. Of course, a child never forgot how a parent had treated them, good or bad. But I’d been able to forgive him for being a horrible father and making me feel like the scum on the bottom of his boots.

So when Grizzly and I had pieced together who RJ was in the random letter we’d received, I’d had compassion for my father’s bastard son.

And then RJ had attacked my dad’s compound, and my younger sister had been caught in the crossfire, murdered at the young age of eighteen. I’d wanted to beat him to death for killing an innocent girl in one breath, and in the next, I wanted to unleash my wrath on my old man. He’d caused all this shit with RJ.

“It sucks losing a brother,” he muttered.

“Jax wasn’t just one of my crew. He was Justin’s stepson. Emilee’s stepbrother. How can you sit there like it’s just another normal day? Because of you, RJ is out for revenge against my club and me! Hollywood suffered a broken leg and arm!” I slammed my hand on the table, seething at his lackadaisical attitude.

“I’ve lost a daughter because of that fucker. I lost good, loyal brothers too. What do you want me to say, Storm? There isn’t a damn thing we can do to change what’s happened and bring back our loved ones.”

“Jesus Christ, you embarrass me! Megan would still be here if you had just owned up to your mistakes and been his father!”

“I would’ve lost Jane,” he snapped at me.

“You lost her anyway, and a daughter.” My stepmom hadn’t divorced my dad after the attack on the club. She’d known about my dad’s bastard child, but like the rest of us, she hadn’t expected Rocky would come after my dad and all that he loved. I knew she had regretted the choices she’d made long ago. Jane still lived on the compound in South Dakota, but she’d kicked my old man out of her bed after Megan’s death. I was sure she’d stayed for my other sister, Hannah, who’d gone away to college. To keep the peace and stability. Jane was a good woman, but she wasn’t perfect. I wouldn’t be surprised if she left my dad, like my mom had, and moved far away after Hannah graduated with her doctorate.

“Fuck you, Storm!”

I sat there, shaking my head. “I’m going to capture RJ and bring him to Minnesota. Maybe I can get through to him. God knows I understand the hatred he feels toward his father.”

David shot me a dirty look. “You’re a fool to bring him into the fold.”

“Maybe, but I have to try.”

“And Angel is okay with you bringing a murderer into her home?”

“Angel is the one who suggested it, years ago. And I’m taking him to the dungeon, not bringing him onto the compound.”

“What about Birdie, Chase, and Frankie, your innocent kids? RJ could fake his repentance and murder your entire family.”

“You insult me. I always protect my family. I’ve sent them and Angel to Canada, to stay with Wolf and Rosa until I deem it’s safe for them to return.” I hated being away from my wife and children, but I couldn’t be distracted while I dealt with an unhinged man.

“What about all the other kids in the club?”

“Do you suddenly care? Let me assure you, every man in my club will protect his wife and kids as he sees fit. None of us are like you, only giving a shit about ourselves.”

“I don’t have to sit here while you disrespect me.” He stood from his chair.

“Sit down. You’re not going anywhere.” My phone chimed with a notification. “Looks like my crew is back.” I got to my feet and went to the door. “Someone will check on you, but Arctic is guarding the door. Don’t try to leave.”

“Fucking hell.”

I smirked on the way out. “You have my permission to beat him if he steps out of line.”

“Are you serious? He’s old.” Arctic locked the door. He stood tall and broad, like a scary-ass Viking.
