“I won’t let him get away with hurting you.”
“They have someone watching the house. They probably know you’re here.”
“No, I came in from the back. I didn’t see anyone. I need to know what he did to you so I can do the same to him before I kill him.” I moved us toward her bed and sat.
“Promise me you won’t do anything. He threatened Rockson.” She got between my legs and removed her hoodie.
Her entire body was covered in bruises and teeth marks. She turned her back toward me, and there were red lines, like she’d been whipped. Next, she removed her leggings and panties. More teeth marks and bruises were on her ass and the backs of her legs.
“Vegas did this to you?”
“And Sid. Vegas handcuffed me to his bedpost and… Well, you can see what they did to me after you left. I’d screamed for help, but no one heard me over the music. Not even Tomcat. I thought he would’ve been by the door listening, but I guess not.”
I nearly barfed in my mouth.
“They made me promise not to tell you while they fucked me with a handgun.” She fell into my arms and cried. “This wasn’t the first time I’ve been raped. But it was the first time Vegas didn’t drug me. I wish he had, so I didn’t remember what they did to me.”
“I will make those motherfuckers pay. I promise you, they will die a painful death.”
“I want to be there. I want to chop off their dicks.”
“Anything you want, baby.”
A knock at the door made Ella jump. “Mommy? Can I come in?”
“No, buddy. I’m… I’m getting dressed. Can you wait for me in the living room, please?”
“Okay…”
“Promise you’ll make sure Rockson and I are safe before you go after Vegas and Sid. If anything happens to our son, I’ll die.”
“Shh.” I cuddled her close. “Don’t worry about anything.” Christ, I was hovering on the edge, a mere millimeter from going off and destroying everything in my path. What those fuckers had done to Ella was unforgivable.
I knew it had been more Sid than Vegas. But it didn’t matter because Vegas had let Sid do as he pleased, the same way he’d sat back and watched my mom be assaulted. The fucking prick would pay.
“We need to get out there. Rockson is waiting.” She stood, put her bottoms on, and got a new shirt.
“I don’t know, Ella. You should get in bed and rest. Do you need a doctor? Pain meds?”
“I’ll be okay.”
“How? How are you even functioning right now?”
“Because I’m a mom and won’t let my son see me broken.”
I went to her and hugged her. “You are the strongest person I know. I admire you, baby. I fucking love you so much. I’m so sorry I wasn’t there to protect you.”
“Just promise me you’ll be here from now on.”
“Done. I promise no one will ever hurt you again.”
“Okay. Get dressed. I’ll go out and prepare him.” She pulled out of my arms, but I couldn’t let her go.
I cradled her cheek and kissed her softly. “I love you, Ella Hill. You’re my whole universe. You and our son.”
She smiled weakly but didn’t give me the words I desperately needed to hear. As much as I wanted to rage and be hurt, I couldn’t blame her. I’d let her down yet again.
I should’ve never left the clubhouse. And where in the fuck had Tomcat gone? He should’ve found me and told me what was going on.
