“Nuh-uh. Don’t make excuses for her. She made you believe Cole was your son. You loved him, for Christ’s sake.” I was about to explode hearing him defend her. I wasn’t ready to discussIrisah.

“Shh, baby. I’m sorry.” He kissed me. “What Irisah did was fucked up. She doesn’t get a pass.”

“No, she doesn’t.”

A car pulled up beside me. Landon—er, um,Grizzly—nodded. In the backseat, Rockson waved with a bright smile on his face.

“He has no clue what’s gone down today,” I told Rocky. “Let’s keep it that way.”

“You’re a good mother to my boy, Ella Hill.” His praise and the admiration in his steely gray depths gave me hope that we would be okay.

“Thank you. Now let’s go get our boy.” We got out of the truck with painted-on smiles.

“Mommy!” Rockson came to me first and hugged me tightly. “Hi, Dad!” He embraced Rocky’s legs. “It’s been a weird day.”

“Yes, it has.” I kissed his head. I looked at Lydia…Libby. “Thank you for bringing him back to me.”

“Can we talk? Please, Ella.”

“I’ll take the little man inside.” Rocky took Rockson’s hand.

“Bye, Grizzly and Libby!” Rockson waved.

“We’ll see you later, honey.” Libby waved.

“He knows?” I turned toward her.

“I told him they were our nicknames, and only those closest to us call us Grizzly and Libby.” She threw her arms around me. “I’m so, so sorry. I never wanted to betray you. Grizz and I love you and Rockson. You’re our family, Ella. That will never change.”

“It’s been a rough day,Libby.”

“More than rough, honey. It’s been horrific. I just want you to know you can count on me. Now that Storm and Rocky have met, there will be no more secrets. Hopefully, they will find common ground, and Rocky won’t try to wipe out the Knights.”

“Yeah, vengeance isn’t worth losing the ones you love.”

“No, it isn’t.” She sniffled and cleared her throat. “There’s someone I want you to meet.” She opened the passenger door. “This is my other man, Toby.”

“It’s good to officially meet you, Ella. That day in the park years ago hadn’t gone over so well.”

“The park?”

Toby nodded. “You busted my balls, thinking I was trying to get laid. Remember?”

“I do remember. That was you?” I was so confused by everything. Libby and Grizzly had done an outstanding job hiding their real identities. I was certain Mona had no clue who her sister really was. She most certainly would have exposed them had she known.

“Yes, it was.” Libby laughed. “Storm immediately pulled him off the job. Then Mona called me, and she was my connection to you.”

“Crap, this sounds like a movie.” I couldn’t wrap my brain around all the details that had led us to today. “So he’s yourotherman?”

Her cheeks turned red. “We’re all together.”

“But I thought you were married to Landon? I mean Grizzly.”

“I am. But Toby is our partner too.”

“Are you talking about a ménage à trois?”

“More like an open marriage, but we’re committed to each other. Before I married Grizzly, I was a kitten, a club girl.”
