I shake out my arms. “Sure. I'm as relaxed as a jelly cup. Bring on the interrogation.”

He chuckles. Anthony presses a button, and a red light comes on. “So, a fire alarm intruded on your honeymoon and made it necessary to switch hotels. How did Liam handle the situation?”

I blink, unsure of what to say. Have I said how much I loathe being in front of the camera? Unicorn-riding leprechauns will parade the streets before I ever get used to it. “Uh. I must admit, I was surprised. He took the lead and knew what to do.” My neck heats at the memory of being tucked against his chest as he carried me. “He might have gone a little overboard playing heroic fireman, but . . .” I shrug. “I kind of liked it.” What am I saying? I hope Liam doesn’t see this. He will, of course. But when it’s all over.

“You’ve only been together for a week. How do you feel toward Liam now that you’ve had a little bit of time together?”

My fake grin returns. “Well, it’s not like we get a lot of alone time.” I slap my mouth. “Sorry, am I allowed to say that?”

Anthony pokes his head around the camera. “Say what you want. We will cut out what’s not appropriate.”

I frown, not exactly sure of the rules, but anyway, it’s out of my hands.

Anthony clears his throat. “Let me ask another question, then. Do you have any apprehensions about your first night together as husband and wife?”

I straighten. “I thought we were keeping things appropriate.”

Anthony sighs. “I’m glad I’m not the editor.” He shakes his head as he presses a button and lowers the camera.

“It’s easy for you, Anthony. What if I had to ask you some personal questions. Tell me your deepest darkest secrets. Would you like those aired on national TV?” I plant a fist on my hip.

“Liam’s got his work cut out for him—I can see.”

I lean on my other hip. “Whose side are you on?”

He lifts a hand. “No one’s. Shall we practice the questions off camera?”

Tension eases from my shoulders. “We can do that?”

“Sure. I understand you’re nervous, Trina. That’s normal. But you need to be open and honest as much as possible. It’s part of your contract and it’s what makes reality TV. Viewers like to know what’s going on in your head. They need to connect with your heart. They’ll fall in love with you if you’re vulnerable.”

“Oh.” So, if I want them to favor me over Liam, I need to convince them I’m falling for him. Then when he dumps me, he looks like the big turd he really is. One thing wrong with that. I don’t want pity. That would suck even more.

Anthony breaks me out of my reverie. “Are you okay with me asking for your thoughts about the wedding night?”

“No.” I bark. “Hold on. They’re asking Liam the same questions?”

He nods.

I cringe inside. I’m going to die of embarrassment. “Yes, just ask me. Like you said, I need to be a little vulnerable.”

“Great. Let’s practice.” He grins. “So Trina, do you have any apprehension about your first night together as husband and wife?”

I smile. A genuine smile. “I can’t wait, actually. I can’t wait to see Liam’s face when I ask him to sleep on the floor.”

Anthony shakes his head and smirks. “We’re not going to get anything deep from you today, are we?”

He adjusts his camera and resumes filming. We get through the questions in no time and return to Liam and Joel.

Liam grins wide as I approach him. What’s he thinking? What did he say to Joel? Now is my moment to find out.

I skip toward him, matching his grin. “How did your interview go?”

He focuses on the path ahead as we enter the resort grounds. “Not sure if I should share that information.”

I squeeze his cheeks and turn his face toward mine. “How did you answer question three?”

“Huh?” His brows scrunch inward before arching. “Oh, question three.”
