“My mom probably would've picked D,” Liam says. “These questions are too easy. We’re going to ace this. Go for C.”

I select C and we get it right. But the next question isn’t as simple.

Your child refuses to eat their vegetables at dinner. How do you handle the situation?

A) Insist that they finish all the vegetables on their plate, using gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement.

B) Respect their decision and offer alternative healthy food options that they enjoy, ensuring they still receive proper nutrition.

C) Threaten to take away their favorite toy or activity if they don't eat their vegetables.

D) Let them skip the vegetables altogether and indulge in their favorite dessert.

Liam and I debate over A or B for five minutes then finally select A.

A green check mark flashes on the screen and a message appears below:

In this question, both options A and B can be considered appropriate depending on the parent's approach and the specific circumstances. It's important to consider the child's individual preferences and overall nutritional balance when addressing mealtime challenges.

We continue to go through the questions, but they get more difficult. When we think two might be correct, we pick the wrong one. Don’t tell me this is rigged to fail as well?

By the end of the test, our score flashes on the TV.

58%

Liam high-fives me before giving me a firm side hug. “We can babysit Wrecking Ball Rex again and there’s a 58% chance we’ll survive.”

I kiss his cheek and thread my fingers through his hair. “Let’s both sleep on the couch tonight.” This is the safer option after the way he kissed me earlier. It wouldn’t make sense to the viewers if Liam was sent to the couch again.

His eyes light up like a kid having his best friend stay for a sleepover. “I’ll be the dessert spoon, and you be the teaspoon.”

“What?”

He takes the remote from me, clicks off the TV, and slides it to the coffee table. After dimming the lights, Liam slips in behind me and pulls me into a position where I’m lying on my side. His leg tangles with mine, and I nestle into his cozy embrace.

With his other hand, he tugs the throw blanket over us, and settles his arm around my waist. A soft sigh escapes his lips, causing a tingling sensation on the nape of my neck. Did I make the right choice? This is all too real now. How can I continue pretending that I’m not falling for him?
