“Do you want a boy or a girl?” Aero asked, his smile returning as he pulled her close again.
Sam laughed. “I don’t know. We don’t exactly get to pick.”
“I hope it’s a little girl, and I hope she’s just like you,” Aero murmured, kissing her softly.
Sam melted against him, wrapping her arms around him and returning his kiss.
“What if it’s a boy?” she asked, and Aero stilled.
“God help us,” Aero said dramatically. “If he’s anything like me, we’re in for it.”
Sam tossed her head back and laughed. “If he’s half the man you are, we’ll be in good shape.”
Tears pricked Aero’s eyes at her sweet words, and he fell in love with her all over again.
“I love you,” Aero said, pressing his forehead against hers. “Both of you.”
Sam hitched a breath as he pressed a large palm to her stomach, acknowledging the life they had created that was growing inside her.
“I love you too, Aero,” Sam said, resting her hand on top of his, and imagining all that was in store for their family.
