“After I killed the club brothers and saw Brandon dead. I burned everything to the ground. Bodies, Brandon, the drugs. Everything. Instead of returning him to Wraith, I just burned it all. That’s what Wraith can’t forgive.”

“Ain’t your fault, Sandman,” Jax said, piping up from the back. “Kid made his choice. He could have gone home to his girl and didn’t. He stayed. But I gotta ask, how much longer are we gonna be riding around the country, ‘cause this shit is boring as hell.”

I smirked, shaking my head. “I can always sing to pass the time.”

“NO!” Jax and Solomon both shouted.

“Love you, baby, but you are fucking tone deaf.”

“It’s like nails on a chalkboard, sis. If you love us, don’t make our ears bleed.”

“Momma can sing!” Soleil shouted, clapping her hands.

Smiling brightly, I smugly said, “See? Soleil thinks I can sing.”

“She’s barely five,” Jax’s groaned. “She still thinks Barney is a rockstar.”

Leaning closer to Solomon, I laid my head on his shoulder as he leaned down, kissing the top of my head.

“Sing for me, Solomon.”

I smiled as he did just that.

Two days later, we pulled into the Wraith MC compound.

Stretching, I sat up and watched as a man standing well over six and a half feet tall with long blonde hair that fell down his back slowly walked down the steps of the clubhouse, only to stop and cross his arms. The doors opened and other MC members walked out.

Several of them.

“That Wraith?” I asked, gulping.

“Yeah.”

“Stay in the car, baby.”

I don’t know what possessed me, but before Solomon could stop me, I was out of the vehicle, reaching for my crutches. Placing them under my arms, I carefully walked over to the big man, who studied me as I approached.

“My name is Sunny Goldman. I’m Sandman’s wife. I wanted to talk to you before Solomon gets out of the vehicle.”

The big man stared down at me. “About what?”

“Solomon told me about your son. I would like to offer my deepest condolences for the loss of your son.”

“They told me you were protective of him,” the big man grumbled. “They didn’t tell me you were also a gentle soul.”

“I love Solomon. There isn’t anything I won’t do for him or our children. If there is going to be a problem with us staying here, please tell me now. We’ve driven a long time to get here. If you don’t want us here, we will leave.”

“Woman has Moxy, Prez,” a large black man standing next to Wraith said. Looking at his cut, I saw the name Red, above his Vice President’s patch. While I was curious why he was called Red, I didn’t ask, knowing that club names were sacred, and it was rude to ask how he came by the name.

I heard the driver’s side door open behind me.

Refusing to look away, I waited for Wraith to decide.

But he was no longer looking at me.

His eyes widened as I heard him gasp.

Turning, I looked from Wraith to Solomon, who was holding Soleil in his arms as Wraith whispered, “My God, she looks just like Fleur.”
