If I wasn’t worried about the other shit, I would take some time to figure it all out, but I needed to concentrate on keeping my family safe. My family needed me to get them home safely, then I needed to make sure I fortified the place before I went hunting. As much as I loved Sunny and wanted to give her that one request, I knew I couldn’t do it.

Scab was mine.

I had to be the one to kill him.

I knew the second I left Tennessee it wouldn’t take Logic or the rest of Disturbed to figure out I was gone. Just like I knew it wouldn’t take my brothers long to figure out where I was heading. I only hoped that by the time we arrived, they would have taken care of everything, because as soon as I knew Sunny and the kids were safe and secure, I was leaving and not coming back until I had Scab’s heart in my hands.

Smiling as Sunny walked over to me, I opened my arms as she sat in my lap. Taking her crutches from her, I handed them to Red as he placed them against another chair. My Sunshine sighed, leaning against me. Wrapping my arms around her, holding her snug against me when she whispered. “We’re going to be alright, Solomon. I know it.”

From her lips to God’s ears.

I prayed she was right.

Sitting there, holding my woman as our daughter played with her uncle, I spotted Jax across the room talking adamantly with a Wraith prospect.

It’s a scene I never expected to see.

With everything going on, my family was happy.

Now I just needed to keep it that way.

After checking on Soleil and Jax, I climbed into bed, wrapping myself around my Sunshine. I knew she wasn’t asleep. I could hear her mind going a hundred miles a minute. She was worried about our daughter, as a genuine, loving mother should be.

I loved watching Sunny with Soleil and couldn’t wait to see her with our baby in her arms. There was so much goodness and grace inside my Sunshine that it overflowed, radiating to everyone around her.

I never thought about my birth mother.

I remembered flashes of her and sometimes I could remember her singing to me, but that was it. Even when I returned to the Golden Skulls, I didn’t care to ask about the woman who let Toxic take me away from her. As far as I was concerned, the woman was nothing more than genetic material and got what she deserved for betraying Katherine and the others. A real mother protected her children.

I hoped she rotted in hell.

“Solomon?”

“Yeah, baby?”

“Remember our first night together,” she whispered.

Smiling, I nodded. “Yeah, baby, I do.”

“You two go have fun,” Remi chuckled, shifting Soleil on her hip. “Little Miss Sunshine and I are gonna watch a movie with the other kids, fill our bellies with popcorn and candy before we collapse into a blissful coma. Aren’t we, sweetheart?”

Soleil snuggled closer to Remi with her thumb in her mouth.

“Come on, Remi! The movie is about to start,” Ink shouted from the living room of Remi’s house, holding Wrenly in his arms as Daphne walked by with Wyatt, shaking her head. “He picked Toy Story again.”

Remi groaned as the front door opened and in walked Reaper as everyone stilled. For the last few months, Reaper had been acting differently, moodier, but when he allowed the cut sluts back into the club, Remi had enough. She flat out refused to step one foot in the clubhouse until those whores were gone.

“What the hell are you doing here?”

The Prez looked tired, worn out. I could tell he hadn’t slept in a while. The dark rings under his eyes told me that. Plus, he desperately needed a shower. The alcohol permeating off him curdled my stomach. All the brothers were worried about him, but no one dared to say anything. His volatile temper had been present for a while now and was only getting worse.

Reaper slurred, stumbling as he reached for the wall to steady himself. “Came to see my kids.”

“Not a fucking chance in hell. You’re drunk,” Remi growled, passing Soleil off to Ari, who suddenly appeared with Ghost beside her.

“Come on, brother,” Ghost muttered. “Let me help you back to the clubhouse. A good night’s sleep will do you some good.”

“Fuck off, Ghost. Don’t need a goddamned babysitter. I want to see my kids.”
