A promise was a promise.

I scanned the faces, looking for the one who harmed my sunshine.

He wasn’t here.

Just his nasty brothers.

Didn’t matter.

I was going to kill them all. Then I was going to walk into that clubhouse and take Remi out of there. My Sunshine needed her.

Moving closer, a glint of metal caught my attention as I watched another shadow move about in the darkness. This one was stealthy and deadly quiet, like me. He was moving fast, approaching three of the Satan’s Angels when I saw a metal sword swing through the air, systematically beheading three men at once, and I knew at that moment I wasn’t alone.

Reaper was here.

Death now had a companion.

Running through the darkness, knives in my hands, I didn’t think. I just did what came naturally to me. Slicing my way through, killing everyone I came in contact with, I left nothing to chance.

None wearing a Satan’s Angels patch would survive this night.

Throwing my knife, I watched as it landed in the back of the head of another, as his companion gasped, right before I snapped his neck.

Brothers from the Diamondbacks started shooting, aiming at moving objects as several of Satan’s Angels breached the compound.

It was total chaos.

Making my way through the throngs of men, I killed everyone who crossed my path. My adrenaline was riding me hard. The smell of blood permeated all around me. Their screams were music to my ears. The demon inside me was happy. He was in his element as he took life after life.

Rounding the back of the Diamondback garage, I spotted four more Satan’s Angels. They were waiting. For what I didn’t know when I spotted the back door of the clubhouse open. Two men, dressed in full tack gear from head to toe, walked out, looking around.

“That’s them,” one of the Satan’s Angels said. “We wait till we see the bitch, then we go.”

Standing not far behind them, I watched as the two men in tack gear looked around as Remi and her two kids appeared in the darkness.

“That’s her. Let’s go.”

Moving before they could flinch, I slit the throat of the leader, while shooting the others dead all before they could move. The men in tack gear turned towards me as I stepped out of the shadows, letting them see me.

I watched as Remi gasped and mouthed my name before one man grabbed her, ushering her fast to a waiting SUV in the distance, only to stop dead in their tracks when the SUV blew sky high. Hightailing it back inside the clubhouse for safety, I heard someone yell, “Sandman, Duck!”

Doing so immediately, I watched as a sword flew over my head, sliding into the face of a Satan’s Angel behind me. The big man fell to his knees before collapsing to the side, dead.

Turning back to the darkness, I stared as Reaper walked out of the shadows and over to the man on the ground. With his booted foot on the man’s chest, Reaper yanked his sword out of the man’s face.

“Didn’t Hawk ever tell you to watch your six?”

How did he know about Hawk?

Shaking his head, he sighed, looking at the clubhouse.

He was so close to the woman he loved, yet so far away.

“Get her out of there. Take her to Sunny. I’ll take care of the rest of these fuckers.”

Shaking my head, I whispered. “She needs you.”

“No, she doesn’t. She never did,” he barely said, turning to walk away.
