“You three just make sure nothing happens. I don’t want any problems tomorrow. Tomorrow is Kitty’s Day and I refuse to let her stubborn husband fuck it up, no matter how pissed he is with me right now. We all know the cranky fucker will be aiming at Savage and me. How’s Sandman?”

“Still mute as ever. Healer says he’s healed enough and refuses to go near him anymore. Sandman damn near broke his nose when Healer tried to get his vitals,” Ghost informed with a smile.

I smirked at that.

Asshole deserved it too. He was mean. Had a shitty attitude and didn’t like anything. He mumbled a lot, too.

He annoyed me greatly.

“About time someone gave Healer a taste of his own medicine.”

“What do you want to do with him?” Ghost asked, looking at Reaper.

I knew that tone.

Ghost was talking about me.

None of them knew what to do with me. They walked on eggshells around me most of the time. Not that I gave a shit. As long as they left me alone, I was happy.

But now everything has changed.

I didn’t want to go anywhere. I wanted to stay. Not because they ordered me to, but because I made a promise to Katherine. Watching her give her life to save mine, I promised I would protect her family.

No matter how annoying they all were.

And a promise was a promise.

Knowing now was the time to speak up, I reached for my knife that I kept strapped to my thigh and threw it. I watched as it landed on the table right in front of Reaper, who jumped from his seat, cursing up a storm as I stepped out of the shadows.

“What the fuck!” he roared. “Are you trying to give me a fucking heart attack?”

“No,” I muttered. “I’m staying.”

“Well, that’s not how you ask,” he replied furiously, pointing to my knife. Growling, he ordered. “Sit the fuck down and stop lurking around. You’d scare the fucking devil himself.”

Ravage and Ghost stared at me.

I knew what they saw.

A natural-born killer.

Reaper grinned, then looked at Ghost, who narrowed his eyes as Reaper said, “I have the perfect job for you, Sandman.”

“Reaper,” Ghost warned, shaking his head.

“What? He’s perfect and you know it.”

“She will kill him, then come after you.”

“Better him than me,” Reaper said, pointing at me. “Besides, she needs protection. She is refusing to go to another safe house. This way, she can stay here, rip my balls off anytime she wants, and I get the peace of mind knowing that she’s protected. Besides, I want to be there when my kid is born, and having Sandman watch her, I get that.”

“This is a mistake,” Ghost said, shaking his head.

“Get on board. He said he wanted to stay. This way he can, and it keeps him out of trouble.”

“He won’t do it,” Ghost stated.

“Yes,” I said, getting to my feet before walking out of church.
