Shimmying ourselves forward, we made our way to the edge of the roof to find out what was happening below.
Soldiers with firehoses were fighting the blast I had unleashed, but we all knew they wouldn't be able to save the building. All they could do was make sure the fire didn't reach the other structures.
Humvees exited from the garages. Their bright headlights were nearly getting lost in the light the flames created, illuminating everything more than the sun had so far.
"What is that?" Kendryx pointed to the small airport that had been hidden from view so far behind the FOB.
On the tarmac stood a handful of choppers, as well as a dozen fighters. It wasn't much, but enough to take down the world the Thyres lived in.
With their bows and arrows and swords, they would have never been a match to the fighters who would unleash missiles on their strongholds and level every building they encountered, just like I had seen them do, and God help me, assisted them in doing to the Vandalls. Not that I had much love lost for the Vandalls, but what we had done to them was an outrage, and I could not stand by in good conscience and watch them do that to the Thyres. Especially after I found out that the humans were not being held against their will as the Terran Confederation had made me believe.
"We need to hurry," I told Kendryx when I saw the pilots run to their choppers and fighters.
The choppers would quickly spot us on top of the roof, and I wanted to be down from here before the first one was in the air.
We quickly made our way up and down the rows of solar panels, threading the lines of explosives we had strung together.
Loud whirring alerted us to the choppers coming to life, followed by a gust of wind stirred up by their many rotors.
"We need to get down," I hissed.
Ducking, we ran to the wall where the ladder was, and disheartened, I stared at four soldiers standing below us, probably sent to guard the generators.
"Is there another way down?" Kendryx asked.
There was the roof exit, but I was willing to bet that guards would be stationed at the bottom or at some point along the way. We couldn't stay on the roof though.
"If we shoot them, the noise will alarm the others," I thought out loud.
Kendryx shimmied forward more. "How many more of those little guns do you have?"
"Plenty," I said. Then reiterated, "we can't shoot them though."
Without a word, he held out his hand, and I dug through my many pockets to pull out the guns I had collected from the men and women I had taken down inside headquarters, feeling a familiar pang of guilt.
A few seconds later, six Glocks lay splayed out between Kendryx and me, as well as the spare magazines. Kendryx weighed one of the guns in his hands and before I knew what was happening, he used the guns like rocks, throwing them in such quick succession that my eyes could hardly follow, at the heads of the four soldiers below us.
None of the four stood a chance, not even the last one, whose knees buckled just like his brethren's, and he fell unconscious to the ground.
"Wow," I pushed out, staring at Kendryx in disbelief. I had no idea how he had done it, but it was obvious there was more to my warlord than I had given him credit for so far. Although I should have known that he was a warlord for a reason.
"I like the way you look at me," he grinned, self-satisfied.
"How am I looking at you?" I teased.
"As if I'm the greatest warrior you have ever seen."
"You are," I assured him. "And as soon as we're out of here, I will show you how much you just turned me on."
His grin deepened. "I will hold you to it, kallini."
His words wetted my pussy, and my stomach fluttered, despite how inappropriate the situation was. But with the added adrenaline flooding through my body, I was hornier for this man than I had ever been.
"Kallini," he shook his head. The way he saidkallinionly increased the pulse in my clit, and I closed my eyes, unable to hold a small moan in.
His lips pressed against mine, and I clung to him, wanting nothing more than to feel him inside me.
The loud sound of rotors as they accelerated, ready to take the choppers into the air, brought me back to reality. Still, for some mad moment, I contemplated letting Kendryx fuck me right here on this roof because I had never been this horny in my life.
