“What game?” I inquire curiously.

“Strip Chess.”

My heart skips a beat at her reply. Strip chess? What is my queen up to tonight?

“Look,” she begins explaining. “I will take the white side, and you will play your favourite black side of the chess pieces. We will be playing against each other this time. Whenever I capture any of your black chess pieces, you will take off one piece of what you are wearing. And I’ll strip one piece off my body if you manage to capture my white chess pieces and remove them off the board.”

I swallow, trying to visualise what she just said. Stripping one piece at a time when you lose sounds incredibly sexy. Just thinking about it makes me hard. I take a step towards Meher, my eyes locked with hers. There’s so much mischief written in her eyes tonight. She is teasing me, but I know exactly how we are going to end up in the next few minutes—our clothes stripped off, our bodies slapping and grinding against one other on the bed, and her moans filling this romantic ambience of our bedroom tonight.

Meher’s breathing quickens as I come to a stop just a step away from her. Her eyes never leave mine. I know she can read my desires in them as they align with hers.

“How about we just strip and do whatever we want with each other rather than playing this game tonight?” I ask, hoping she agrees with me.

The rate at which my pecker is pushing inside my pants, I don’t think I can endure playing a game with Meher tonight. I want her.Right now.

She bites her lower lip seductively, another gesture which I know is only to tease me more. Keeping the predator too hungry for his prey is never good. But it’s an act only a few can play well. Meher is one of them. She knows how to tease me until I can’t take it anymore. She enjoys pushing me until my patience breaks since the results are always enjoyable for both of us.

“Is the King scared of stripping?” she mocks before giving me a once-over. “You do look close to losing it tonight.”

F*ck!! A challenge like that from the queen hits me straight in my lower body, instead of my head. Clenching my jaw, I step back and take my seat on the chair behind the black chess pieces of the ornate table. If she wants to test me, she’s in for a treat since anyone who has ever dared to test a king has always failed.

“Bring it on!” I challenge.

She grins again as I tilt my head to one side and give her a challenging look. Meher’s eyes are fixated on me as I slowly and carefully uncuff the shirt and roll the sleeves up to my elbows without breaking our eyelock

“Whoever wins will score a point in our scoreboard, too,” Meher adds, looking back at me.

I nod, agreeing with her, knowing I would be the one getting that point for the King.

“Alright then, let’s begin.” She rubs both her palms excitedly as she takes her seat opposite me and arranges her white chess pieces. “Just to be clear, whoever is the first to strip completely will be the loser.”

“And what is the prize for the winner?” I ask with curiosity and mischief.

She presses her lips together, holding her smile.

“The winner gets to decide how to take this night forward. By the way, if I win, I am going to sleep like a log tonight,” she replies, grinning.

“First of all,” I say through gritted teeth, “you’re not going to win tonight.”

She raises her eyebrows, challenging me.

“Is there a second thing coming? Otherwise, we can start the game.” she teases again.

She’s going to lose it badly tonight. No one has challenged me like this before.

“I’m not letting you sleep at all tonight, Mrs. Meher Walia Shergill, no matter who wins.”

That’smy second warning for her. Meher’s jaw drops at the seriousness of it. Now, the game can begin!!

CHAPTER 9

AYAAN

We begin the game, moving our pawns ahead in a synchronised manner, mirroring each other’s moves. In the game of chess, it all starts with the pawns—these little soldiers always make the first move.

I watch Meher’s eyes as they dart across the board as she searches for the perfect move. She’s excited to win this game despite knowing I’m the master of it. How can my queen possibly outwit her king and his moves? Just as I am thinking this, Meher’s fingers hover for a moment before confidently taking down one of my black knights. Darn!

“Eyes on the board,King,” she teases, leaning back on her chair. “It’s not wise to get distracted in a game like this.”
