“Ma’am, your brothers are here. They are waiting for you downstairs,” she informs.

“Is my dad here as well?” I inquire, but she shakes her head.

“No, ma’am. Only your brothers have arrived,” she replies before leaving.

I sigh, realising that my father won’t be a part of this. He won’t take orders from Ayaan, nor will he cooperate, even when we share a common goal – a common enemy!

***************

Minutes later, we gather in the expansive living room of the Shergill Mansion, the air thick with anticipation and tension. Vishnu, Aksh bhai, Krish and I sit in a semi-circle, listening intently to every word that Ayaan speaks. As anticipated, Dad didn’t join us, despite Vishnu checking with him personally before heading to Shergill Mansion. We all knew he wouldn’t come for today’s discussions. Ayaan’s father and Bhaskar Uncle are also a part of this conversation. Ayaan, resolute and focused, takes the lead as he directs the conversation that will determine our course of action against the looming threat of the Khuranas.

“What do we know so far about them?” Vishnu’s inquiry hangs in the air, directed at Ayaan, the strategist of today’s meeting. Ayaan shifts his attention to Krish, who swiftly inserts a pen drive into the smart TV. The room is illuminated with images of a ship at a dockyard, workers unloading massive wooden crates onto waiting trucks.

Ayaan takes the remote control, his eyes reflecting the gravity of the situation.

“Our intel provided us with these images. Three days ago, Raghav was caught on camera overseeing the unloading of containers from this ship at the dockyard. Later, the cargo was transported via these trucks here.” He highlights the trucks standing in line at the dockyard.

Ayaan’s voice is firm and confident, guiding us through the events as they unfold.

“Fortunately, we know the location where these trucks were taken. Here.”

He points at the red dot on the screen, highlighting a secluded warehouse nestled within the dense embrace of a jungle.

“We reckon these trucks transported the illegal weapons Tej Khurana is here to deliver to his client, and this is where they’ve stashed their arsenal—at this warehouse, a few miles from Kansapur, until the delivery.”

Vishnu and Aksh exchange a horrified glance, their worries mirroring the magnitude of the threat.

“That’s too much ammunition here, Ayaan, enough to wage a war,” Vishnu voices his concern, addressing Ayaan directly.

Ayaan acknowledges the gravity of the situation with a nod, “It is.”

An unsettling silence settles over the room as we struggle to come to terms with the enormity of the challenge before us.

“We don’t know who the buyer is, but we do know the exact date and time of the delivery.” Ayaan’s further revelation lingers in the air, adding both uncertainty and hope. “It’s happening in four days from now, on the coming Sunday.”

Vishnu’s worry deepens, and Aksh’s mind races to comprehend the scale of the impending danger.

“If we have four more days to go, why don’t we tell the police and give them this location so that they raid it and seize all these ammunitions?” Aksh bhai suggests. Though logical, Krish immediately steps into the conversation to explain.

“Even if we do that,” Krish asserts, “we wouldn’t be able to prove whom it belongs to—the mastermind of Bat Syndicate.”

He is being practical. Legal help at this stage might not help us expose the Khuranas or their criminal enterprise – the Bat Syndicate.

Ayaan takes control of this narrative again.

“We plan to seek legal assistance, but we will do so only on the day we take action. Similar to how a thief can only be caught in the act of stealing, a mastermind like Tej Khurana, who sells arms and ammunition unlawfully, can only be exposed during his interactions with clients when the weapons are being sold,” he confidently asserts.

My strategist, my King, has a point. Ayaan’s words pull me into a world where we’re not just fighting for our lives, but we are also fighting to dismantle a criminal empire that operates in the shadows.

“That’s how we will catch him red-handed and expose his real face to the world, with solid evidence,” he adds.

Ayaan’s eyes meet mine briefly, and in that shared gaze, I find his reassurance despite the risks ahead.

“So, here’s the plan.” Ayaan’s voice resonates in the room as he outlines the details of our plan. “Vishnu, I need highly trained sharpshooters to surround this warehouse on the day we attack. Can you arrange for them?” Ayaan’s gaze shifts to Vishnu, whose commitment to our family’s safety has always been unwavering.

He gives a nod, accepting his part in this mission.

“Krish has connections with spy agents in Mumbai who will assist us in completing our mission. Accompanied by these highly skilled agents, Krish and I will infiltrate the warehouse on Sunday to gather evidence of the weapons deal between Tej Khurana and his client. This will ultimately expose the mastermind behind the Bat Syndicate and lead to his arrest for involvement in illegal activities thus far.”
