“Why are we here?” Lukas whines.

“Because she needs to eat.” I explain reasonably, though I’m regretting my decisions, too. “And she likes high places. This can be our place.” I shrug. “Or not. But she looks happy, don’t you think?”

He huffs. “She’s happy.”

“Can you go to the reception and pick up her next present?” I suggest while he stands there.

Lukas gives me a hard look and disappears. I lean back and cross my arms over my chest, content with my life, with my choices, with this date day. The interior is a dark, intimate affair, a restaurant for romance not for showing. Couples sit in well spaced tables around the circular restaurant, speaking in whispers and low voices. Glowing yellow light illuminates the interior but still gives us a feeling of being high in the sky. It’s exactly the opposite of Bellvue. This is the restaurant we should have brought Missy to dine at.

“Missy!”

She whirls, her face slack with shock. “Elise?”

The younger Clark throws herself into her sister’s arm and is swiftly hit by the even younger Clark; Muse.

She cuddles both girls; her face positively glowing. And even though I wanted so badly to be selfish with her time, I’m glad I chose instead to invite her sisters.

They talk animatedly and point out the window. Lukas entertains them while Darion and I watch. He’s already the favourite with the younger siblings, and that’s fine with us. I feel a moment of regret that Trin declined my invitation, but seeing her happiness, I’m not as concerned.

The food comes, and we eat. The choices are simple, standard, familiar dishes done well. And seeing my omega close her eyes and savor the food, I’m relieved.

After dessert, we go downstairs, and Kandi and Sven take Muse and Elise back home while I usher Missy towards our car.

She climbs in and smiles as she cuddles up to me.

“This was the perfect day. Thank you.”

“It’s not over yet.”

I give Lukas his instructions and sit back with my arms around our omega.

We get to the lookout and park, all four of us, struck by the sight of Silver Hills City glowing below us. Missy gets out and walks to the edge of the car park, standing on the footpath at the fencing.

“I had no idea this even existed.” She murmurs.

“I thought you would like to know a place like this exists for…” I clear my throat, “romantic nights or just to escape.”

She jerks her head in a nod, jumping up to stand on the wooden pole sticking out of the ground. She balances there with her arms spread as the wind snatches her hair and dress. I can’t take my eyes off her.

I feel a desperate urge to drop to my knees before this goddess. Or heave her over my shoulder, throw her in the car, and take her home.

She hops down and meanders up the path, staring down at the glowing lights of the city. Darion takes her hand and twirls her around, dancing to music no one can hear. I can hear it, though. Maybe it's music only those in love can hear.

Lukas leans up and kisses me. His move surprises me, but I grab him, dragging his hips against mine and holding him still. His tongue thrusts into my mouth while his hands drag down my back and grip my ass. “You are looking very hot right now, Mr. Super Alpha.”

I pull back and smirk. “We’re not done yet.”

His eyes widen slightly, and he steps back, smiling coyly. “Does the end of the night involve being naked?”

I shrug. “It may or may not.”

Lukas laughs and springs towards Missy, picking her up and whirling her around. She laughs and squeals as Darion ducks out of the way.

I reach into the car and pull out a huge coat, it's heavy and thick and extra soft. I found it one day two weeks ago. The colour is a dark green that matches her eyes. It even has gold buttons. I’d seen it and gone in and walked out with it. I just wanted the perfect occasion to give it to her. Tonight.

“Darion?”

I offer the coat to him.
