I clear my throat and tilt my head towards the end of the house. “So, this way.”

They follow me, and I spot the new door. I open what used to be my door.

“Lucas, this is so you can game and race and blow off steam without making our girl worry.”

Lukas whoops and rushes past me to explore. I had them put in lots of sounds and different games. It’s got flashing lights. It’s got bright paint that’s still a bit wet. I’m relieved that the scent deodorizers work on paint fumes as easily as our scents. There is a massive lounge in front of a huge flatscreen and it’s hooked up to two gaming consoles. It’s a Lukas man-cave that would send my senses reeling. A private bit of heaven for him.

I touch Darion’s wrist and open a different door for him. It’s a library with a massive desk and his personal laptop on it. The colour scheme is dark grays and charcoals and masculine, strong lines. A haven for our alpha and his many demons to escape and retreat. I look around, pleased that the designers followed my instructions so carefully.

“A workspace so you don’t have to go to work because I know it stresses you out being away from us and just a place that’s yours.”

Darion clears his throat, several times, and nods tightly.

I leave the room but find myself pushed up against a wall while Darion shakes and buries his face in my neck. We stand there like that until Lukas rejoins us. Missy is standing against the wall, staring at us with a happy smile.

“Missy, we can’t give you a nest here, but I can give you a combined space for us.” I say and take Darion’s hand in mine.

I open yet another door.Yes, this is it.I step back and let the others file in ahead of me.

The bed is huge. On either side are couches. The walls for Darion’s bedroom and Missy’s are gone. The walk-in robe has been extended. But soft blankets and pillows have been added everywhere. Missy walks around the room, touching everything.

Lukas throws himself on the bed.

“We’re sleeping together?” he crows.

I shrug. “Do you object?”

“Hell no,” He says and rubs some more, wriggling around until he finds a pillow and inhales the scents of it. I recognise it as being one of our old ones.

Missy turns to me and steps into my arms. “Thank you, this is so much.”

Darion clears his throat. “So, I may have done a thing.”

I jerk my head in his direction.

“I got wind of what you were doing and added some, uh, embellishments.”

He crooks his finger and smiles, making him look young and carefree. He points out an armchair I hadn’t paid that much attention to.

“That is a massage chair for you since you don’t want or need anything else.” Darion rolls his eyes. “I spent a lot of time trying to think of something I could get you, but in the end, I wanted to suggest we spent two weeks of the months at the other house. Have more of a life with less work.”

I stare at him, my heart beating fast. “You want to let go of the reins?”

“Promote from inside,” Darion corrects, “spend some time travelling, or I don’t know, doing fun things.”

“Thank you, I love it.” I say with warmth, and then I laugh. “I love it. I’m so happy right now.”

“And one last thing for all of us.” Darion leads us up the stairs and out onto the roof.

There’s a bed now and glowing little fairy lights that make the place look like it’s out of a secret garden. A few plants dotting the space around us.

But what captures my attention is the table full of candles, four champagne glasses, and two bottles. Darion walks over to the table and fills up a glass each. He passes them out.

While Missy and Lukas exchange glances, she says. “We weren’t going to do this today.”

“Do what?” I ask.

The duo exchange devious grins as Lukas says, “We did a thing.”
