“I’ll stay here and run the search. Darion, you deal with the Gala since you know it better than anyone. Take who you need, but leave me Ava and three others. Lukas, you hit the streets. Take Sven with you. Tell anyone who listens that if they withhold information that I’m coming next with my gloves on.”

Lukas blinks. He doesn’t wait, he just turns and jogs out of the room.

I clap Darion on the shoulder. “Don’t get in your head. Find that fucking room.”

Darion gives me a look and walks towards our massive conference room that is the base of our operations.

I go to my desk and pull out a second phone. Then I start making phone calls.

“All right, we found them. They were at the Clark house. Trin joined them, and they abandoned the vehicle. They went into the parklands.”

Lukas glares at the phone screen. “What the fuck did she go there for?”

Darion licks his lips. “Bait?”

“Bait.” I confirm. “It appears Elise is missing. I contacted some people. Missy was asking about her sister. No one had seen her. They kept searching until about 1am, decided to head home. It took them an hour to get through that part of the city on foot. Something’s happened about twenty minutes from here. That’s when she attempted to dial Darion’s number. But Kandi was taken out, and Missy was taken. Also, point of note; Yarek Samuels was the last person seen talking to Elise.”

I let that information sink in. Darion looks like he’s barely holding onto his rage. Lukas is pale and visibly shaking.

“What happened to Trin?” Darion asks darkly.

“Who the fuck cares?” Lukas growls at Darion. “I’m fucking sick to death of that beta! She’s creepy and obsessed with you. It’s not right!”

“I don’t know.” I say to Darion. “She’s in the wind, too.”

Darion rubs his jaw. “I’m not sure we can trust Trinity, especially in regards to Missy.”

I stare at him, feeling ill at what he’s saying. “Are you certain?”

“No, it’s a feeling. I’ve been trying to find out, but since we went through the heat, Trin’s been avoiding me.”

“So we have three missing Clark siblings?” Lukas roars. “Our omega. My omega possibly was betrayed to these…these monsters by her own sister? I need…we have to get her back!” His tendons on his neck bulge and stretch as he flexes and fights against his urge to lash out.

“We will.” I promise.

“Where is Kandi?” Darion asks coldly.

“She’s in the hospital. Some kind of tranq put her under, but then they stomped her so badly she couldn’t be identified.”

“Holy shit.” Lukas mutters.

Darion sits down and puts his head in his hands. “Jesus.”

“What do we do?” I ask them.

“We have one chance at this. Tonight's Gala.” Darion says, he sounds exhausted. “We have no choice. Do you still have those tickets? We’re going in.”

I hiss out a breath between my teeth and nod. “Okay. Lukas, get Sven and Sven only. Let’s go over this plan and make some changes.”

The party is in full swing when we arrive, not that we haven’t had eyes and ears inside this room for the last two days. I adjust the cuffs on my tux and glance casually around. Darion is coming later, but Lukas is already charming the women in their beautiful dresses. I sip my drink and study everyone, wondering which ones are involved, who are the monsters underneath the makeup?

We don’t know the extent of this ring, but if we cut the head off the snake…maybe we can end this. That was our plan. Come here and get as much information as possible and hand over everything we can to the police.

Thatwasthe plan.

Now the plan only consists of rescuing our omega. That is my only goal.

A woman in a crimson gown that flares at the waist hesitates as she walks past me. Scarlet’s bitter chocolate scent wraps around me, and I move to intercept her. Casually handing her a glass of champagne.
