Rayna closes her laptop, sets it aside, and places her full focus on our conversation. “You know I owe the club a lot. Without all of you, I don’t know where my mom and I would be right now. Loren could’ve already hurt us or killed us. I’ll do whatever I can to help out. Thankfully for me, you’re asking for my help in a field that I excel in.”

I give her a grateful smile, reaching out to squeeze her hand gently. “We appreciate it more than you know. Getting the bar up and running is the next big thing we’re doing as a club, and maintaining a level of professionalism will help us before we’ve even opened.”

“So, you guys are opening a bar?”

I nod. “Yeah. A club we’re close with has a bar up in Gainesville, Tennessee. They’ve had it running for twenty years or so. It does really well for them, so we spoke to their president about allowing us to franchise and open a location here. We’re already close with their club, so we figured we’d do damn well being in business together.”

Rayna’s eyes light up with curiosity as she leans in closer, her voice barely a whisper. “That’s really cool! I can’t believe the club is taking such a big step, especially business-wise. This is going to change everything for you guys, isn’t it?”

“I wouldn’t say it’s going to change everything, but I’m sure it’ll impact us in a positive way. It has the potential to change things, not just for the club but for all of us. It’s a bold move, but we’re confident that it will pay off.”

Rayna nods eagerly, her auburn hair swaying with the motion. “Awesome. I can’t wait to help. I need the logins for the host site, the domain site, and a few other things. Want me to text you what I need?”

“Yeah, I do.” I don’t have her number yet, and this is one hell of an easy way to get it.

I hand over my phone, and Rayna’s fingers glide across the screen as she puts her number in. “Text me a list of whatever you need. Oh! I almost forgot. If the bar has a logo for the business, I need that in HD.”

“First, I’ll give you whatever you need, sweet cheeks,” I reply, my hungry eyes roaming up and down her body.

Her cheeks flush with a deep shade of red, and a mischievous smirk plays on her lips. “Somehow, I don’t have a doubt about that.”

I release her hand and graze my fingertips along her inner thigh, feeling the thin material of her leggings under my touch. She glances down at my hand and then meets my gaze. “I meant what I said. I want to give this a shot, Rayna.” I need her to take me seriously, to know how badly I want this to work between us.

“You’ve certainly made that clear,” she responds with a hint of amusement.

“You’re right, I have. Something I haven’t done is tell you what kind of man I am, and I’m gonna show you. But I’m also gonna tell you. I can tell you’re scared of this. I can sense your hesitation and fear toward this.” I motion my hand between me and her. “There’s no need. I’m not the type of man who’s going to throw you out after a couple of weeks, months, or even years. I truly want to see if this will work, and I have a feeling we will.”

Rayna grows slightly tense as she asks, “What about my brother?”

“What about him? He won’t interfere in our relationship if we give this a real shot.” I chuckle.

Our eyes lock once again, and yet there is so much uncertainty.

“Don’t you think it could be a problem, considering he’s in your club?” Rayna’s words hang in the air, heavy with concern. She looks at me with furrowed brows and worry-filled eyes, questioning the consequences of our hypothetical relationship.

I know it won’t be a problem because she’s everything I could ever want. Dag wouldn’t put himself between us. He knows I’m not a bad person. He knows I’d treat her well, and I will.

I shake my head. “No, because it’s not a problem.” I get closer to Rayna, running my hand along her cheek, and stare into her eyes. “I want you, Rayna, and I think you’re coming around to the idea of wanting me too.”

I bring my face closer and capture my lips with her own. There’s a slight quiver of her lips, and the intensity in her gaze is telling me sheiscoming around to the thought of us. I capture her lips with my own in a passionate kiss, hopefully washing away every worry and doubt, allowing them to fade away in the back of her mind.

I’ve fucked up a lot of shit over the course of my life, but I refuse to fuck this up.

She’s everything I’ve ever wanted.

CHAPTERFOUR

Rayna

This guy is damn well determined to be the biggest pain in my ass client I’ve ever had. I’m damn well sure of it. I completely reworked his website within the parameters he requested, and he’s still not happy with it. What in the actual fuck?

I’ve looked at websites for some of the top Irish pubs in New York, Los Angeles, and even some in Minneapolis. I’m using them as influence while giving him everything he’s requested . . . and he’s still not having it.

Ugh, this is completely annoying.

I shut my eyes in complete frustration, and the moment I do, I’m taken back to yesterday. Magnus’s lips on mine. The way he stared deeply into my eyes. It was so perfect. Beyond perfect, actually.

I’m trying so hard to stay away from him because he’s in the motorcycle club with my brother, but he’s making it difficult. It doesn’t help he’s made up his mind and has essentially said he’ll wait for however long he needs to make me his.
