We shouldn’t.I didn’t think I’d be able to walk away if I did. But the way things were escalating, it felt inevitable. “Not here.”

Briana pouted.

I surged forward, capturing her bottom lip between my teeth and biting down hard enough to make her gasp. “Come on,” I said, reluctantly pulling back and putting distance between us. “We’re almost there.”

We hiked through the last of the jungle at a quick pace, but my thundering heart wasn’t racing from the exertion. I hadn’t agreed to come on this trip so I could sleep with Briana. But had I wanted to spread her legs? Absolutely! That body was a siren’s call. Regardless, if she said no, I would respect her decision. What I hadn’t expected was the chemistry between us to be this explosive. I was feeling wholly unprepared, like I was on a rollercoaster.I’ll take what comes.

The crash of water sounded through the trees. Sliding the bag containing our delicious lunch and my weapon off my back, I moved to the mouth of the waterfall.

Briana let out a whistle when she came up behind me. “Worth it.”

“Exactly.” I was already shucking off my clothing.

“Are you secretly a nudist?” Briana asked, tone teasing.

I winked. “You like it.”

“I didn’t say I didn’t, it’s just surprising.”

“Well, this being freshwater and with the presence of rocks, I came prepared with my speedo,” I said, bending down to drop my hiking shorts. When I turned back around, Briana was standing there in a sports bra and briefs.

She pushed out her hip. “I like that you’re trying to push me out of my comfort zone, Viktor, but I also came a little more prepared today.”

Damn straight, she did. Blood rushed south, and my dick strained against the restrictive binding of the speedo. I gestured for her to step beside me at the ledge. “Scared?”

Briana let out a long breath as she looked down at the crashing water. “You’re right, I think I’m scared of everything.”

“Not everything, suits. You just have a carefully guarded comfort zone.”And if in our short time together you come out of this more resilient, I’ll consider my work here done.

“And jumping helps that how?” she asked with a laugh, nudging her bare toe into the ground.

“We’ll see how big your talk is.” And with that, I launched myself from the top of the falls.

There was a weightless moment before I dropped. The churning water rushed to meet me, and I plunged deep.

Although it was technically illegal to even be at the mouth of the falls, I’d paid handsomely for certain individuals to look the other way. It was perfectly safe; locals jumped these falls all the time. But they kept the tourists from such activities lest they have an obnoxious problem on their hands when someone stubbed a toe and cried for safety measures.

When I came up for air farther down the river, I looked up at Briana, still standing on the ledge. I couldn’t see her face clearly, but I knew she was hesitating. “Come on, babe. You can do it,” I whispered, fisting the rock I’d anchored onto.

As if she could hear me, Briana leapt.

I roared out a cheer as she cannonballed. Heart pounding in victory, I pulled myself higher onto the rock, watching for her to submerge. When her head, darker now that her hair was wet, popped out of the water, I launched for her. In a few strokes, I caught her close, a hand possessively curling around her waist.

Laughing, we climbed out the water and back up the rock before sitting to catch our breaths.

“I wasn’t going to jump,” she confessed.

“I knew you would, suits.”

Watching me, Briana stood and slowly straddled my lap.

“Bri—” I hissed in warning.

“You said to let the cards fall. We’re fake dating, and there’s this heat between us,” she reasoned.

“I swore to myself that I wouldn’t use you on this trip,” I admitted, capturing her roving hands in one of mine.

“You’re not using me. I want this, Tor. Can’t we just make memories?”
