“Good girl,” I whispered as I slid my fingers from her, pressing a kiss to her pussy.

“Fuck,” she gasped, panting as she looked at me. I leaned over to capture her lips with mine, my cock hard and straining against my jeans.

She reached for my belt, and I grabbed her hands, stopping her.

“Don’t you want…” She started when I kissed her into silence.

“Oh, I want, sweet Filly, I want real bad but this isn’t how I am going to be with you the first time. I want to savor every part of your body beneath mine. I want to discover every inch of you, how you react to every brush of my fingers against your skin. No. I am going to wait until I can have you exactly how I want.” I kissed her temple as she frowned at me.

“but…” She huffed out a breath when I put my finger to her lips.

“No more protests, gorgeous. I was desperate for a taste of you, and I want you to trust me. I don’t see you as a conquest or a warm body. I see you as the kind of woman a man could lose himself in, the kind of woman he would marry and so I am going to court you like a gentleman should.” I helped her get back into her clothes properly, adjusted her in the seat, and pulled the seat belt over her.

“I can do that.” She said with a dark look.

“I know you can, but it makes me feel good to keep you safe. Let me look after you.” I stroked her hair out of her face and kissed her cheek before closing the door.

I had to adjust myself before getting into the driver’s seat, my cock still not getting the message that he wasn’t getting any action tonight.

We drove in silence and when I noticed her picking at her nails, I reached over and took her hand, pressing a kiss to the palm.

“Don’t overthink things, Anya. Just enjoy the moment.” I said softly, hoping I hadn’t pushed her too far.

When we got back to the ranch, the lights were still on in the main house and the bunker, and I wondered how I was going to approach this with Beau.

Anya went to get out and I stopped her, pulling her hand gently until she looked at me.

“Are you okay?” I was worried she was going to run now and I had fucked it all up.

“I… I don’t really know. I came back with the intention to sell this place. To wipe every trace of the old me from existence. Now I find out that everything I knew was a lie, that the things I went through were in some ways, punishment for the choices Austin made.” She paused and I bit my tongue, desperately wanting to know what it was that happened to her to make her run.

“Then Beau confesses he loves me, you confess you love me and Wyatt…” She sighed and I squeezed her hand.

“Hey. Look at me,” I said and she turned to me with wide eyes and a bone-deep look of exhaustion. What demons haunted her at night?

“This thing with the ranch, it isn’t your responsibility. If you want to sell, then sell. We will figure things out. The crime side of things, well that’s something Beau is taking care of, and we are hoping that this next run will untangle us completely. The situation with your father and Austin? That was not your fault and I can tell you that your parents loved you more than life itself. Don’t ever doubt that.” I smiled when she nodded but I could see that she didn’t believe me beneath it all.

I just hoped she could talk to Beau about this bullshit soon and see that it wasn’t as bad as she thought. If anyone could convince her, it was him.

“And this whole dynamic with Wyatt and myself, that’s not my business. I won’t stop loving you because you are with Wyatt and I won’t get in the way of that. I don’t even mind sharing as long as I don’t have to touch his dick.” She rolled her eyes and snorted a laugh.

I relaxed a little, glad that she was seeing the lighter side of things.

“As for my brother, well I can't speak for him and I know he is a damn stubborn mule when he wants to be but I am sure he will come around.” I shrugged and she sighed.

“It isn’t that simple. I wasn’t planning on staying. I don’t know if I can.” She looked out the window at the house, the lights giving off a soft glow that highlighted her cheekbones. Damn, I wanted to feed her more to fill her out again.

“If you don’t want to stay, then don’t. Just know that I have had a taste of you, Anya, and I will chase you wherever you go. I get the feeling that Wyatt feels the same from the way he was looking at you.” I added and she grimaced.

“I know. That is what I am worried about. I’m no good for you. I am not…” I snarled, gripping her cheeks firmly, and kissed her.

“I told you I don’t want to hear that. Stop talking about the woman I love like that. Now go inside, have a nice relaxing shower, and go to bed.” I said and she looked like she was going to argue before she mumbled under her breath and got out.

I followed her inside, satisfied that I had done my part to convince her it was worth staying.

Now I had to get Beau on board as well.
