Williamglancedatmeas I paced outside of the house. I was respecting Beau’s request to give him space, but I was desperate to see Anya.

We had returned to the ranch after burying the bodies and found a distraught Beau holding Anya, her body covered in blood and her shirt gone.

He snapped and snarled at anyone who came close until the ambulance arrived then refused to let us in.

William had only just arrived home after going with Mrs. Hart to the hospital and he looked exhausted.

“The others are out getting the last fence fixed. They were tense and there was talk of leaving because they didn’t sign up for this.” I said quietly as William walked over.

“I’ll talk to Beau about it later. Any word from them?” He said and I shook my head, looking at the front door like I could will them to appear.

“I’m done waiting. I need to see her…” I started when the front door opened, and Beau appeared.

“Where is she?” I asked as I rushed towards him, he narrowed his eyes but sighed, rubbing the back of his neck.

“In the shower. I already told her we need to talk about all of this. Including what happened to her. I think she is taking her sweet ass time to avoid the conversation.” He said with a rueful smile.

“You slept with her,” William said, shocking me.

“Jesus, Will.” He muttered and I shoved him.

“Are you fucking serious? You couldn’t wait for her to heal? You took advantage of her when she was vulnerable.” I said as I gripped the front of his shirt.

He gripped mine back, pulling me closer.

“Watch yourself, Wyatt. I didn’t take advantage of her and before you go saying shit you can’t take back, remember that you were with her the same night she found out about this ranch and her father.” He said quietly and I winced.

He was right. I had no right to judge.

“Mate. Let it go. Do you think you could both give her a break? She is a grown-ass woman who can make decisions for herself.” William said to me as he gripped my arm.

“Thank you, William. I’m glad one of you has some sense in his head.” Anya said from the door, startling all of us.

She looked between the three of us before nodding towards the kitchen.

“I have coffee. If we are going to air this all out, we need to do it over coffee.” She said and disappeared.

“I know you are worried, Wyatt. I wouldn’t put her in harm's way.” Beau said quietly as I let him go. I nodded once and followed him inside.

I had no right to get so upset, she wasn’t my girl, not yet anyway. But things were complicated now, the three of us wanted the same woman.

She was leaning against the kitchen counter with her coffee in hand, a wary look in her eyes as she watched us file in.

William went straight to her and pulled her in for a hug.

“Are you alright, Filly?” He murmured and she smiled, nodding against his chest.

Her eyes met mine as he let her go and I hesitated. I didn’t know what to do now I could see her. I desperately wanted to hold her against me, but we never discussed what this was between us.

“You can hug her man, no one is going to rip your arms off,” William said with a grin and Anya gave me a half smile.

I rushed over, pulled her into my arms, and inhaled the scent of her shampoo. She was stiff at first before her body relaxed and she let out a long breath.

“I was so worried. When I saw you…” I swallowed, not able to speak.

“I’m okay.” She said as I let her go and her eyes swung to Beau.

“First, we need to talk about what they said.” She gestured to the table, and we all sat down.
