“Good. Because I was ready to fight my brother and that wouldn’t be pretty.” I joked and she sighed.

“I want peace. I want to move on with life and have a family with you. With all of you.” She said and I held her close, inhaling the soft scent of her shampoo that was mixed with the scent of grass from being in the field and Beau’s cologne.

“You will have it. We will fix this and get ourselves free and then we can figure out the logistics of how we all call you our wife and then have a big old family.” I said.

“I like the sound of that.” She said as she pressed her face into my chest, her fists clenched in my shirt.

“Me too,” Wyatt said from the doorway, and I looked over at him.

“How long were you listening?” I asked, not annoyed that he had heard, just curious if I needed to clarify anything.

“I came in about the same time as you said you were going to fight Beau. For the record, I would challenge him too.” He said seriously as he looked at Anya.

“What? Like a duel? What century do we live in again?” she said with exasperation.

“The century were a woman can be with more than one man and she wont get labelled a witch. Which is a good thing too because you have three husbands to be.” I said and she rolled her eyes.

“Okay, I get it. You are all going to put a ring on it. Can we please go and watch the feed now with a little less testosterone?” she said, walking away from me.

I followed behind her, gripping her by the waist and spinning her around.

“I love you; Anya and I am not afraid to say it. I will spend the rest of my days reminding you, so you never question my feelings for you.” I said before I kissed her, putting all my emotions into it.

For a split second, I thought I had lost her to my brother and that scared me. No, it broke my heart, and I never wanted to feel that way again.

“Come on. I need to watch Beau get this done safely.” She said and we followed her out.

I didn’t want to admit it to anyone, but I also had a bad feeling about this. Something didn’t feel right. It was like the calm before the storm.

Which was ironic since there was one on its way.

Wewatchedthescreenas Beau pulled into the abandoned car park.

“There isn’t anyone here.” He said and unease rolled through me.

“Just wait a minute. Maybe they got held up.” Mikhail said as we all watched. The tension in the room was thick, even little Anouska seemed to understand something was wrong and had gone still in Gabriel's arms.

“I don’t like this,” Anya whispered and I squeezed her hand, glancing at William who looked just as worried.

“Wait. I see someone coming.” Beau said before he opened the truck door and climbed down.

We could see the van approaching in the late evening sun, along with another car. Two cars. That felt unnecessary.

When the door opened for the second car first, I held my breath as a middle-aged man climbed out, his suit pristine and expensive.

It must have been hot in that thing, but he didn’t break a sweat as he walked towards Beau with a sly smile.

“Beau Daley. It is good to see you. And the others who are watching from your little camera.” He gestured to Beau’s chest, and I looked at Mikhail who shrugged.

“The camera isn’t the most discreet out there,” he said softly.

“We didn’t want to take chances after what happened with the Chase family,” Beau said, going straight for the throat and the man smiled.

“Of course. It pays to be cautious in our line of business. So, tell me, Beau. What is it that you think you will get in the future? Do you think we will let you go free?” He asked and a weight sat in my stomach.
