“She was rude to Abi this morning,” Tally explains.

Elliot’s shoulders tense at the mention of the timid girl he seems to be so taken with.“What did she say?” he asks, sounding possessive as shit.

When I glance at Oak, I find him smirking, thinking exactly the same as me.

“Not much. Just brushed her off like she did me.”

“It’s tough being new,” Olivia says. “And as you said, she doesn’t exactly look like she’s used to a place like All Hallows’.”

She’s fucking right there.

She might be wearing her uniform… kind of, but it still doesn’t cover up that fact that she’s clearly not All Hallows’ material.

Her make-up is heavy, giving off major don't talk to me vibes that only adds to her unfriendly aura. And it’s that that makes me want to walk over there and see if I can get a reaction out of her.

She was so unfazed by me the night I found her in the kitchen. But I know there’s so much more. A depth, a darkness that I’m desperate to discover.

Elliot looks back around having studied her.“I think I’m good. Not my type.”

“Oh really?” Reese asks, beating me to it. “I thought you loved a challenge. Surely the New Girl isn’t too much for the great Elliot Eaton.”

“I swear to God, if you guys start a bet then I’m leaving you, Reese Whitfield-Brown.”

“What the hell did I say?” he argues, but it doesn’t work, and she narrows her eyes on him in warning.

“We might not have been together all that long, but I’ve known you lot all your lives and I know exactly how you work. She’s new, be nice. Do not put her in the middle of a bet. I’m warning you.” Olivia pins us all with a look before Reese twists his fingers in her hair and claims her lips in a filthy kiss.

“My sister is a bore.”

“Don’t even think about it, Beckworth,” Tally warns making Elliot, and I laugh.

Is it wrong that a part of me is disappointed that those two whipped motherfuckers will obey orders and ruin our fun?

RAINE

Theo Ashworth.

That was his name.

The boy I’d bumped into at the girls’ dorm. The same boy I’d watched maul a girl earlier in the cafeteria as he watched me with smug amusement.

Conceited arsehole.

Apparently, he’s a rugby player and an Heir. Whatever the hell that means.

I’d heard the same whispers all day.

Another Heir bites the dust.

Two down, two left for the Heir chasers.

Wonder who will fall next. Theo or Elliot.

It was obviously rich kid talk. Code for some stupid elitist little gang or something.

I didn’t ask anyone to explain because I didn’t care.
