“Shit, Raine. That feels… fuck,” he chokes out, dropping his hungry gaze to my mouth. “I’m going to fucking ruin you.” He kisses me the exact moment I grab a handful of his dick and balls, squeezing as hard as I can.

“The fuck?” He jerks away, snarling at me. But I have him in a vise.

“Don’t ever touch me like that again.”

“You fucking bitch. You played me… you— Ow. Shit. Stop, okay. Just stop.”

“Promise me.”

“I promise. Fucking psycho. You think I want anywhere near your pussy after this. It probably has teeth.”

With a little shove, I release Theo and he staggers back, staring at me with utter disbelief.

“You’re crazy.”

“I bite too.” I bare my teeth at him with a little wink. “This little game between us, ends here. You stay out of my way, and I’ll stay out of yours.”

“Fine by me.”

“Good.” I nod.

“Good,” he grits out. “Just do me a favour, yeah, and tell Millie I apologised so she’ll get off my back.”

“Consider it done.”

It’s his turn to nod. He drags a hand down his face and for a second, I think he might say something else, but he thinks better of it, and takes off in the shadows.

Another smug smile falls over my lips. He made it so damn easy. He’s also as gullible as shit if he thinks I’m really going to walk away without getting revenge for what happened in the cafeteria.

“Raine, wait up,” Millie calls after me as I head out of the dorm building the next morning.

I slow down a little, waiting for her to catch up.

“I heard about yesterday.” Her expression darkens. “I’m so sorry. That was a really shitty thing to do.”

“I’ve survived worse.” I shrug, giving nothing else away.

“Well, I just wanted to say sorry again. My brother can be—”

“Relax, I don’t judge people on their siblings. Even if they are complete arseholes.”

She smothers a laugh. “He apologised though, right? I told him I wasn’t going to talk to him again unless he apologised.”

“Yeah.” The lie is bitter on my tongue. “He apologised.”

“Good.” She nods once, falling into step beside me as I head toward the main buildings. I guess we’re walking together.

Silence blankets us for a moment but then she says, “I can’t imagine what it must be like, coming to a place like All Hallows’ halfway through the year.”

Better than the alternative, but I don’t tell her that.

“Oh, I don’t know. It isn’t so different to public school.”

“What was it like?” She hesitates. “Being in care?”

“It wasn’t all bad, if that’s what you’re wondering.”
