“Film it if you want, you can enjoy it later when you’re alone,” Liv quips as I continue standing there, staring at one of my best friends suck his girlfriend’s face off.

Screw it, what the fuck happened to us?

Only a few months ago, we were excited to be starting our lives as Heirs. Planning the parties, the girls, the epicness that our year was going to be and yet, here we are.

These two pussies are loved up, Elliot is walking around with a perpetual boner for a girl he probably shouldn’t be anywhere near, and I am… I’m obsessing over a girl I can’t stand.

Yeah, yeah. You keep telling yourself that.

You’re just as delusional as your cunt of a father.

Ripping my eyes from the happy couple, I make my way back to the kitchen to finish everyone’s coffee. Letting the job at hand distract me from my fucked-up issues as much as possible.

We sit in silence drinking, letting the caffeine flood our systems and hopefully perk us up a little when there’s a knock at the front door.

“Who the fuck is that at this time?” Reese complains.

“It’s past lunchtime,” Tally helpfully points out.

My eyes catch on Oak’s, concern passing between us. Elliot never sleeps this late. Ever.

“I’ll go then, shall I?” Liv offers when no one makes an effort to move.

“Thanks, sweet cheeks. Love you,” Reese mutters, making Oak gag.

Liv’s voice floats around us as we wait to see who it is but before we find out, footsteps pad down the stairs before a rough-looking Elliot appears in a pair of sweats.

“Morning, boss. Looking good,” Oak teases.

“Fuck off,” Elliot grunts, combing his fingers through his hair before taking off toward the kitchen. Although he comes to an abrupt stop when Liv leads our visitor into the room.

“Red?” he breathes.

“M-morning.”

I turn around just in time to see her cheeks heat as she tries not to look at his half-naked body.

“What’s up, Abs?” Tally asks, turning her attention to her friend.

“Umm… have you guys been outside yet?” she asks hesitantly, hiding behind her hair as if she’s scared of us again. I thought she’d got over that habit a while ago when she discovered that our bark is worse than our bite.

“Nah, we barely made it down here,” Reese says, as if it isn’t obvious from the state of us.

“Okay, well. I think you probably need to come out and see something.”

“What is it?” Elliot demands, stepping closer to her.

Lifting her hand, Abi smooths her hair over the scarred side of her face.“I had nothing to do with it, I swear. I just… you need to see.”

“Abs, whatever it is, we know it wasn’t you,” Liv assures her, wrapping her arm supportively around her shoulder.

“Grab some shoes, let’s go see what’s going on,” Elliot demands, marching around Abi toward the front door.

“Holy fuck, it’s cold,” I complain the second we head outside.

Our breath clouds around us and there is still frost on the ground.

“Not our fault you’re incapable of grabbing a coat,” Liv quips.
