“That was… intense,” Tally whispers. “So much sexual tension.”

“Please, I wouldn’t touch Theo if he was the last man on earth.”

His eyes snap to mine and I flush all over.

Shit.

He heard me.

And from the challenge glittering in his eyes, I just laid the gauntlet.

“Been there. Tried believing that lie. And now Oakley owns me in every way possible.” A dreamy expression falls over Tally, and Liv fake gags.

“God, you two are disgusting.”

“Speak for yourself, Liv. You and Reese—”

The sudden vibration of my phone startles me. No one has my number except for Trudy and Miss Linley.

Everything fades into the background as I open the text message, careful to keep my phone hidden in my lap.

My eyes almost bug at the video.

Theo fucking into me like a man possessed.

He filmed us, that two-faced fucking tosser filmed me.

Quickly, I exit out of the video, and shove it back in my pocket.

Theo doesn’t so much as look at me, but I sense his smugness from across the table.

Well, two can play at that game.

“God, I miss good sex,” I blurt, pretending that I’ve been listening to the girls’ conversation.

A quick glance in his direction tells me I have Theo’s full attention.

“The last guy I slept with was so sure of himself, yet he barely knew how to…” I lean in closer, whispering the words.

“Oh no, that’s awful,” Liv says. “What did you do?”

“Fake it.” I shrug. “Twice. But he tried so hard, I didn’t want to dent his self-esteem.”

My phone vibrates again, and I smile to myself.

“I have English with Callum Johnson, he looks like he knows his way around the female body.”

“Fucking hell, Ashworth, what did you do that for?” Oakley complains and we look over to find his drink spilled everywhere.

“Sorry,” Theo mumbles. “I thought I saw a spider.”

I bite down on my lip to stop myself from laughing.

Men. So predictable.

Theo doesn’t want me. Not in the way girls want to be wanted, at least. But he’s still arrogant enough to protect his fragile ego.

“Oh crap, is that the time? I’ve got a meeting with the career’s advisor,” I lie. “But I’ll see you tonight?”
