“Hey.” I stop and gaze up at him. “I’m here, aren’t I?”
“I know but—”
“No buts. I’m here because I want to be here, Theo. I want to be with you.”
Relief skitters across his expression, and he ducks down to steal another kiss. “So I know you’re a bad-arse and don’t want to make a big thing of it, but I kind of did a thing.”
“Oh God, what did you do?”
We reach the building, and he motions inside. Elliot, Reese, and Oakley look up as we enter, and the girls fall into step beside them.
“What the hell is this?” I demand, aware that everyone is staring at our welcoming committee.
“This is us making a stand,” Elliot steps forward. “You’re one of us now, Storm. Time this place knows it.” He turns on his heel and cuts through the morning crowd as the boys follow him.
The girls swarm me, Liv at one side and Tally and Abi on the other side.
“Everyone’s staring,” I murmur, holding my head high, refusing to look away.
“Let them. They’re just jealous,” Liv says loud enough that a group of Heir chasers overhear.
“Welcome to the inner circle,” Tally winks, lacing her arm through mine. “Officially.”
“Officially,” I chuckle.
I like the sound of that.
As if he hears me, Theo glances over his shoulder at me and mouths, “I love you.”
“Love you too.”
Something settles deep inside of me, and for the first time in my life, I feel content. Happy and free.
Because loving Theo means I’m not alone.
It means I have a family.
A future.
And I’m going to hold on to it as tight as possible.
EPILOGUE
Raine
“Fuck, sunshine, I can’t get enough of you.”
Theo kisses me harder, his fingers curling inside me as I ride his hand. The heavy bass of the music pulses in the air but we’re both too lost in each other to care.
It’s my birthday party.
I turned eighteen today.
I am officially an adult which means I finally aged out of the system.
We’re supposed to be celebrating with our friends, but Theo took one look at me in my skintight black skirt and crop top and dragged me into the bathroom.
“People will be looking for us,” I pant.
