“You’ve really got to stop calling me that.”
“You love it,” I smile sweetly.
“I love you, sunshine. So fucking much.”
“I love you too.”
“Enough to let me fuck you in the basement later?”
“So predictable.” I roll my eyes, as I steal a chaste kiss. “Come on, my dirty boy. Get me drunk enough and maybe I’ll make all your dreams come true.”

“What are you doing all the way over here?” I ask Abi sometime later.
I’m a little bit tipsy but nothing over the top. Despite my promise to Theo, I don’t want to be out of control. Although the party was invite-only, there’s still a lot of people crammed into the Chapel, and I can’t help but feel a little on edge.
“I’m not really feeling it,” she murmurs, barely meeting my eyes.
“Abs, what’s wrong?”
“I…” She lets out a big sigh. “It doesn’t matter.”
I follow her line of sight, not surprised to find Elliot drinking and talking with a couple of boys from the team.
“You know one of you is going to have to make the first move eventually,” I say.
“What?” Her eyes go big, full of panic.
“Come on, Abi. It’s obvious there’s something going on between you. You dance around each other like magnets.”
“He’ll never act on it. He’s made that more than obvious.”
“So you make the first move. Show him that you’re not the fragile breakable girl he thinks you are.”
“I…” She worries her bottom lip, mulling over my words.
“Life is too short, babe.”
“I’m not sure I’m cut out to—”
“Abi.” I take her hands in mine. “You’re one of the strongest people I know. Elliot would be lucky to be with you.”
Her cheeks turn five shades darker, but she needs to know how amazing she is. How resilient and strong.
“Thank you.” She gives me a faint smile. “That means a lot.”
“I know you think he couldn’t possibly want you back, but isn’t it better to take a risk than never find out?”
Strong arms wrap around me from behind and Theo pulls me back against his chest. “What are you two whispering about?”
“Nothing,” I reply, twisting my head a little to look at him.
“I’m going to go find Tally and Liv.” Abi moves around us.
