“Fuck’s sake,” I mutter, taking matters into my own hands and physically shoving them away.

“Don’t come crying to us when this all blows up in your face. We tried to warn you,” Oak states as I reach for the front door.

But as I go to pull on the handle, it swings open, almost breaking my nose in the process. “The hell are you do— Mills?”

The sight of my sister with tears and make-up staining her cheeks makes my heart clench and my stomach knot.

“What’s happened? What’s wrong?”

In a split second, her emotions flip, and the sadness is engulfed by pure fury.

“You fucking dickhead,” she screams, taking me by surprise before her palms land forcefully on my chest, making me stumble back.

“Millie,” somebody warns a second before Liv and Tally emerge behind her.

“This is all your fault,” Millie continues to wail, her arms moving so fast as she pounds on me that I’ve no chance of catching them. “You did this. You did all of this. How c-could y-you?” Her voice cracks and so does my heart.

I love my little sister to death, and seeing her hurting wrecks me. But I need her to stop fucking hitting me.

“Mills, you need to calm down,” I soothe, still attempting to capture her wild arms.

For such a small person, I must admit, her tiny fists actually hurt a little.

“Okay, baby Ashworth. Shall we calm down?” Oak says, somehow managing to wrangle the uncontrollable octopus, pinning her crazy arms to her sides.

“I hate you,” she seethes, really driving a knife through my heart.

“I think we all need to calm down,” Reese says, throwing his arm around Liv’s shoulders and dropping a kiss on her temple.

The sweet move makes my breath catch.

This time yesterday, I could do that.

“What’s happened, sweet cheeks?” he asks quietly as Oak leads my sobbing sister deeper into the Chapel.

Liv shakes her head before nodding toward Millie.

“Well?” I ask, lifting my arms from my sides impatiently when Oak risks releasing her.

“She’s gone,” she states flatly, lifting her hands to wipe her eyes.

My stomach immediately drops into my feet, replaced by an unforgiving lump of dread.“Gone?” I ask simply, desperately trying to cover how those two words make me feel.

I was just on the way out of the door to go and fuck Keeley. I shouldn’t care.

“There was a note under my door, Theo. It was a goodbye. She’s gone for good. And it’s all your fault.”

“I wasn’t the one who—”

“Stop it. Just stop it. She didn’t cheat on you. She wouldn’t. She—”

“Millie, stop. She—”

“She loves you, Theo. Do you know what her note said?” she asks, her brows shooting up.

“How the hell would I know?” I seethe.

“She said she’s sorry.”
