I shake those thoughts from my head. Nothing good can come of reminding myself that in some ways Reid, JD, and Mav are just as bad as their fathers.

They’ve all got more blood on their hands than I want to consider right now.

Hell, so has the woman I’m clinging on to for dear life.

As if it knows she’s coming, one of the garage doors open as we approach and Aubrey flies inside, pulling the break at the very last minute, almost sending us shooting over the handlebars.

“Woohoo,” she shrieks.

“Crazy fucking bitch,” I mutter, hopping off the back and seeing just how close she came to the wall.

“Life’s boring without a little risk here and there,” she says with a demonic grin playing on her lips.

“And watching as that safe house got blown up with the men I—” I swallow the words before they tumble from my lips. “Wasn’t that enough?”

“Aw, you’ve lived such a sheltered life,” she taunts.

“Fuck off.” I scoff. As far as I know, she’s fully aware of what my life has been like.

“Girl, stick with me. I’ll show you how it’s done.” She winks before shamelessly stripping down to her underwear.

“Uh…”

“Don’t worry, your boys won’t be back for a while,” she announces before turning her perky ass on me and walking toward a door on the other side of the garage.

“Wait, are you going to explain or what?”

“I will but not standing here dripping wet. You want the intel; you need to move your booty.”

She glances at my feet as the puddle I’ve made grows.

“Yeah, alright,” I mutter, following her actions and peeling my soaking wet clothes from my body before racing after her in just my underwear.

“Aubrey?” I shout when I walk through the silent house.

My heart is in my throat. If they found out that we were at the safe house, what’s to say they didn’t know that we’re heading straight here?

What if they’re waiting?

My hands tremble and goose bumps cover my skin as I silently move down the hallway, my eyes darting into every room I pass.

Fear turns my blood to ice when a loud bang comes from above me.

Backing into the corner, I cover my mouth with my hand, my eyes burning with tears at the thought of having to face them again.

The walls close in on me and all I can see is the three of them staring down at me with nothing but the bars of that cage between us.

Oh my God.

My heart races, but despite my need for air, my lungs don’t work.

Violent tremors rock my body and before I’ve realized I’m moving, I’m crouched on the floor, trying to curl myself into the smallest ball possible.

If I hide, they might not find me…

The room spins as my heart continues to pound like a bass drum, fear stealing every single one of my logical thoughts.

Their eyes…
