“Nice. Looks like I turned up at just the right time.”

“Typical,” Reid mutters.

“We’ve ordered breakfast,” Mav says. “Should be here soon.”

Aubrey’s nose wrinkles.

“Okay, but we can eat it out there, right?” she says, pointing over her shoulder.

Reid shakes his head, silently laughing at his friend.

“You can eat it in the bathroom for all we care,” JD mutters, climbing onto the bed behind me. “For a badass assassin she’s a bit of a pussy,” he mutters loud enough for the girl in question to hear.

She doesn’t respond, but the glare she shoots JD would send most men into hiding.

Thankfully, there’s a knock at the door, and she quickly spins around to answer it.

“Are you going to come to eat, Dove?” JD asks, his lips brushing over my ear.

Tingles spread through my body, reminding me of the way the three of them touched me and cared for me in the bathroom.

They were all so sweet, so tender, and gentle. It’s not what I wanted as desire thrummed through my veins, but it was what I needed.

They allowed me to forget about everything for just a few minutes and they took care of me. It’s something that is so foreign after the life I’ve lived, but equally, so welcome.

“Not right now. I’m not leaving her.”

“I can bring it in,” he offers.

“It’s okay. I’m not really very hungry.” As I say the words, his stomach growls loudly, making me smile. “You go, though. We’ll be okay here.”

“You’ll call if you need anything?” Mav asks, clearly as eager to eat as JD.

“Yeah, but we’ll be fine.”

In only seconds, all three of them have given me a kiss and walked out of the room in favor of the scent of bacon that’s now wafting through the air.

“And they say that men are led by their dicks.” I laugh to myself.

“Three boyfriends?” Kristie asks, scaring the shit out of me.

“I thought you were sleeping.”

“Not really,” she confesses.

“How are you feeling?”

“Do you really need me to answer that?”

I sigh. “No. I’m so sorry, KK.”

“Not your fault.”

“It’s taken me too long to find you.”

“Stop,” she begs quietly, her voice rough.

“Do you want water?” I ask, sitting up to grab the glass that’s sitting on the side waiting for her.
