“Ravens,” he blurts.

Pulling his piece from his waistband, J presses it against the guy’s temple.

“Fucking Ravens?” he sneers. “You have any idea what those motherfuckers cut their drugs with?”

He shakes his head, making JD’s smile widen.

“Probably for the best you don’t know.”

“J,” I hiss impatiently.

The kid wails as J throws him across the dirty floor.

“We catch you or your brother peddling Raven shit in our town, we’ll send you to them in pieces. You got that?”

“Y-y-yes,” the kid agrees before disappearing as fast as his legs will carry him.

“What the fuck is wrong with Raven’s product?” Mav asks with his brows pulled together.

I shake my head as we hit the stairs and JD barks out a laugh.

“Fuck all. That was fun though. Got me all warmed up.”

“Fucking asshole.”

“Takes one to know one.”

Thankfully, the climb to the seventh floor is smooth, the stairwell and then the hallway that leads to Apartment 710 is deserted.

Well, that is until Devin, Ezra, and Ellis appear at the other end.

With a series of hand gestures we’ve perfected over the years, I tell them to spread out and stay alert.

We’re going to stop anyone else getting involved or anyone—namely Kurt—from fucking off, should we be stupid enough to give him the chance.

‘Where’s Alana?’ Ez mouths.

I smirk but don’t give him an answer.

Turning to the door, I press my ear against it for a beat. But everything is silent.

Releasing the safety on the gun in my hand, I glance back at J, letting him know that I’m ready, trusting him to do the same to Mav so we can move in together.

I take two steps back before planting my booted foot beside the doorknob and kicking the door wide open.

A scream rips through the air as the door collides with the wall, and as we surge inside, there’s a panicked scuffle.

Instantly, we discover who it belongs to.

Just like in the photo Mav received, Sheila and Daisy are sitting in the middle of the dark room, bound. But this time, Kurt is standing behind Sheila with a blade against her throat, her gag nowhere to be seen.

His eyes are wide, but his expression is strong.

Stupid motherfucker really thought he was going to get away with this.

Daisy screams behind her gag, it’s quiet and horrifying.

She’s a child. A baby.
