“Trafficking?” she asks.

“We only just found out about that so I’m not sure. Maybe. It could be why they’ve got some kind of allegiance that Reid hasn’t been able to break through. Kai seems willing to talk though.”

“Maybe he’s like us,” Alana muses hopefully, although there’s an edge of caution in her tone.

“Maybe,” I mumble skeptically.

Honestly, none of us have a clue what is going on over in Hazard Grove with the Devils.

Since they went to war with the Saints a few years ago and wiped out their rival gang, everything has been pretty hush hush.

They’ve been getting on with their business and we’ve been getting on with ours.

News of Sidney Hyde shacking up with Kai’s mother didn’t even really make waves on this side of the border.

Sure, I’ve wondered about the whole thing a time or two, but we’ve got enough of our own shit to worry about.

“Maybe we can go after Sidney next, and then whoever is in charge of the Ravens and the next generation can take over.”

“Rich,” I say, naming the Ravens’ leader. “He doesn’t have a son though, so I’m not sure what’ll happen there when his time is done.”

“There will be someone ready to take over,” she says.

“Oh, I don’t doubt that, Dove. It’s just yet to be seen which side of the line they’ll fall. They could be with us, or very much against us.”

“We’ve had enough of the latter.”

“Too fucking right.”

“We—” The buzzing of my cell under the pillow we’re sharing cuts off whatever she was going to say next.

Sliding my hand under the pillow, I pull it free and glance at the screen, my brows pinching as I find another missed call from an unknown number.

When we got back from the safe house and I charged it, I had multiple missed call alerts and a handful of messages from this number asking me to call back.

“What is it?” Alana asks cautiously. “Are they okay?”

“Yeah. It’s not them.”

“Who is it?”

“I… I don’t know,” I confess before putting it to sleep and stuffing it back under the pillow. Whoever it is isn’t as important as the woman beside me. “Are you going to slide that hot little body closer yet?”

“I haven’t forgiven you,” she counters.

“That wasn’t what I asked. You don’t need to forgive me to make use of my skills.”

One of her brows quirks in interest.

“Keep talking,” she encourages.

“Well,” I say, shifting closer. “I think it would really help you feel better if I were to kiss you…” I lean closer, letting the sweet scent of her skin fill my nose as I brush her collarbone with the gentlest of kisses.

She shudders, but she doesn’t push me away.

I pepper her skin with kisses before moving lower. Tucking my finger under the neck of her tank, I drag it low enough to expose her breast.

Her nipple is already hard and begging for attention, and I give it exactly what it wants.
