I’ve no idea why, but the sense of foreboding is unnerving as fuck.

“Slow it down,” I demand, hopping off JD’s lap and climbing into Reid’s who has a better view.

“Why? What did you see?” Mav asks, also leaning closer.

“Nothing. I don’t know. I just… something,” I say cryptically, unable to explain the feeling.

They’ll all think I’m crazy.

Hell, they probably already do. So I’m not sure what difference it would make.

“Her. Who is she?” I ask as someone new appears on stage.

She’s dressed as a school girl with a shirt barely covering her tits, her belly exposed and a barely-there tartan skirt that hides shit all.

I can only imagine the reaction of the sick fucks in the audience as she bends over and gives them all the money shot.

Bile swirls in my stomach.

No one says anything as we continue to watch her, everyone waiting for a flicker of recognition.

But it never comes.

“I don’t know, Pet. She isn’t familiar.”

I keep my eyes on the woman—no, girl. She’s not as old as the others. Honestly, she looks like she still should be a school girl, not up on a stage impersonating one.

“I know her,” I whisper. “I don’t know who she is, or where I know her from, but I do.”

“Okay,” Reid says simply. There is no question or doubt in his voice.

My lips part, but his belief in me leaves me speechless.

“Y-you believe me?” I ask when I finally find my voice.

“Of course. You have good instincts, Pet. Why would I doubt you?”

I glance back at JD and Mav, expecting one of them to add something. But they never do.

A laugh of disbelief punches from my throat as another gut reaction bubbles free.

“We need to go there,” I blurt.

“There?” JD echoes.

“The club?” Mav confirms.

“You’ve identified two girls. I recognize her. We can search for intel on them until we’re all blue in the face, but if the men controlling this have done their jobs right, then there won’t be anything to find.

“The girls we all remember will be long dead, and these,” I say pointing at the screen, “will be new versions who’ve popped up out of nowhere so people can’t uncover the truth.

“But if we go there. If we can speak to them?—”

“Dangerous, Pet,” Reid warns.

“Everything we’re doing right now is dangerous. How is this any different? Plus, if we’re out of town then there is less chance of Victor or Kurt getting to us.”

“She’s got a point there, Boss,” JD teases.
