I loved when he was bossy, demanding, and rough.

I did as I was told, locking my ankles together behind his back as he shoved down his boxers. He met my eyes then, and behind them there was nothing but desire.

He rocked his hips against me, his cock gliding across my core.

“Is this what you wanted?” he growled, fingers tangling in my hair.

I moaned in answer, my brow knitted as I chased the feel of him. He was teasing me, and I bit back a frustrated cry as the head of his cock pressed against my clit, sending ripples of heat thundering across my body.

“Moira,” he rasped, gritting his teeth, and clenching his jaw as he thrust inside.

I cried out, gasping as his thrusts quickened.

I couldn’t get enough of him.

Just as I was on the edge, he pulled out and told me to turn around. I put my feet flat on the floor, bracing myself on the counter as he drove into me from behind, his fingers still tangled in my hair.

I looked at us in the reflection in the mirror, at his hands clutching my waist, at the way he bit his lip as he moaned deep and loud. The look on his face, totally lost to the feeling of being buried inside of me was all it took to send me over that edge. My eyes filled with stairs, my voice a choked cry as I panted his name.

“Oh. My. God!”I cried, my toes curling against the tile floor.

He dug his fingers into my hips, pulling me against him as he came. I blinked to clear the stars from my vision and met his gaze through the mirror, the both of us breathing heavy and shimmering with sweat. He slapped my ass, a wry smile dimpling one of his cheeks.

I wasn’t sure I’d ever get used to this. I had to pinch myself every now and again to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. I lay against Grant’s chest, listening to his heartbeat in the dark sanctuary of our room.Ourroom. Ours.

His fingers trailed over my spine.

The house was quiet. We were safe. My son, who had just started calling Grant Dad, was asleep across the hall.

“I love you,” I said without hesitation. Grant’s fingers on my back stilled for a moment before starting up again. I’d never said those words to any man before—not even Kirk.

“I love you, too,” he whispered, resting his hand against the back of my neck.

I wasn’t sure if there was a word to describe how I was feeling.

All I knew was that for the first time in my life, I washome.

Six Months Later

Day, Jason, and Luke walked ahead of me, bundled against the cold. The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman had been a hit, and now we were moving onto the Science Museum.

I sighed heavily, reaching out to grab Day’s shoulder before he walked too far ahead. Snow was falling thick, and the foot traffic between the two museums was surprisingly busy for the time of day and the inclement weather.

“Dad,” Day said, pointing in the direction of the Science Museum. “Is that it?”

“Yep,” I replied, patting his back as he ran forward with his buddies.

Jason’s dad, Chris Thomas, walked up next to me and handed me a to-go cup of coffee.

“Thanks,” I said gruffly, a shiver of cold running up my spine as the coffee cup warmed my chilled fingers.

“You gotta take off soon, right?”
