“He is.” Jolie drops her voice and leans in so only Daphne and I can hear. “And he’s so cute, Madison. Super nervous, but in an eager puppy dog way. Not like a runaway groom way or anything.”

“Whew.” I huff out a breath, my face breaking into a wide smile.

I haven’t stopped grinning since Spence proposed this past April at Augusta, dropping to one knee on the eighteenth green. Things between us moved quickly, but I knew he was the one practically from the beginning. And because my parents are in town for the summer, we threw this wedding together in just a few months.

“Everything good out there? How about at the reception site?” I quiz Jolie, ticking through the wedding checklist in my mind.

“I’ve got it under control. Today’s about you and Spence. Let me handle the details, boss.” Jolie winks and I don’t even let the boss comment bother me.

I’m too damn happy for that.

Spence and I are getting married.

Today.

It’s unreal, a dream come true. He’s more than I could have hoped for, better than I ever thought possible—and I have Charity to thank for that.

We’re even having the ceremony at the same little white chapel. But Spence wanted the reception at the golf clubhouse, and I was happy to oblige.

He also requested pimiento cheese finger sandwiches. Some golf tradition or other. And the party’s indoor-outdoor, allowing the groomsmen and other wedding guests to use the putting green.

But whatever. As long as Spence and I are together, I honestly don’t care what everyone else is doing.

Which is kind of strange for a bridal planner. You’d think I’d have preconceived notions of my own special day. Now that it’s finally here, though, all I care about is having a great day, filled with sunshine, fun, and Spence.

The first notes of the bridal processional ring out, crackling through Jolie’s headset, and she hustles everyone out the door. My sister and niece, my mom, Daphne, and I head out to the foyer, bouquets in hand. Jolie takes my mom’s arm, guiding her over to the side door to join my dad in the pew. She dabs at her eyes and waves to me, most likely thrilled to be finally marrying me off.

Then Jolie cues the bridal party, telling each of them when to proceed down the aisle.

Now it’s just the two of us standing at the back of the chapel.

The music shifts to the wedding march and the old wooden pews creak as everyone stands. Jolie gently nudges my arm, and I step forward into the doorway, staring down the white aisle runner at Spence.

He’s so handsome, in his dark suit and light pink shirt, the same shirt he wore our first night together. He said it’s his lucky shirt now—and I happen to agree with him.

Butterflies wing around in my belly, a hot flush rushing over me, as I start the long, slow walk toward Spence.

My nerves fade away the closer I get to him, our gazes locked only on each other. He’s beaming at me and I’ve never felt more certain about anything in my life.

I’m at the altar now, and the minister’s greeting the guests, talking about the sanctity of marriage, the joining of two hearts, two families.

Spence and I join hands as the familiar words tumble together and I stare into his deep blue eyes. At the dimple in his cheek that tells me exactly how he’s feeling, his broad shoulders, his confident posture. Never overwhelming, always reassuring.

I love this man.

“Do you, Madison Leigh, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, till death do you part?”

“I do.”

“And do you, Spence, take this woman to be your lawfully wedded wife, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, till death do you part?”

“I do.”

“Then by the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.”

Spence tips my face up, his thumb tracing over my cheek, before dropping his lips to mine in a long, slow kiss. Right there in front of our friends and family, letting everyone know that I am his and he is mine.

Together forever.
