“We’d love to. Oh, this is Sandy and Boone Evans. Sandy works here at the ranch.”
“Nice to meet you both.”
Once they all shook hands, they sat, then Brett stood again and asked who wanted what to drink. Nevada got to his feet.
“I’ll go with you. You can’t carry all of that.”
“I’ll go too,” Boone said as he stood.
Brett nodded, and the men headed for the bar.

JoJo knew by the look on Sandy’s face that questions were coming.
“Okay, give. Who is that gorgeous man?” Sandy asked.
“He moved here earlier this summer. One day, he came into the bakery, and I almost swallowed my tongue. The next time he came in, he asked me out.”
“He’s very handsome.” Sandy looked over her shoulder at him.
“Like Boone isn’t,” Courtney scoffed.
“Yeah, okay. We won’t even mention Nevada.” Sandy laughed.
The women laughed. JoJo watched Brett make his way through the crowd and reach the table. He set her drink in front of her and resumed his seat.
JoJo was having such a good time, and when Brett asked her to dance, she nodded and stood. He took her hand, and they walked to the dance floor, where he spun her around in time with the music.
She couldn’t stop laughing as he pulled her close and spun her away. When he pulled her back, her body came up against his, and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
“I’m having a good time,” he said close to her ear.
“I am too. If you keep me on the dance floor, I need to get some food. I’ll need my strength.”
Brett laughed. “We dance well together.”
“We do.” She toyed with his hair touching his nape.
He leaned down, pressed his lips to hers, and stared into her eyes.
“I’m crazy about you, JoJo,” he murmured.
“I feel the same way about you, Brett.” She touched his cheek.
When the song ended, they walked hand in hand back to the table and sat. The conversation and laughter flowed as the night went on.
At midnight, JoJo leaned close to Brett.
“Are you ready to go?”
“If you are, sweetheart.”
“I am. I’m tired. You wore me out on the dance floor.”
Brett put his lips close to her ears. “Don’t think about going to sleep.”
JoJo laughed. “I’ll rest up on the way home.”
