“Lay one on me, darlin’. I can’t get enough of those lips.”

Dylan smiled, pressed her lips to his, and slid her arms around his waist as Alex deepened the kiss. He slowly raised his lips and stared into her eyes.

“I can’t wait to get out of here. I want you, darlin’.”

“I want you too. I’m glad Mom is taking Zoey tonight.”

“You and me both.” He sighed. “We’re going to be fine, Dylan.”

“I know that. Are you worried?”

“No. I’ve just been here before. Everything was fine with what I did until after we were married. I don’t want to lose you, ever.”

“You won’t. I know what you do, Alex, and I accept it. I will never be angry with you for doing a job you love. A job that means something. I promise.”

“I believe you.” He kissed her lips again. “Can we leave?”

“Not yet. We haven’t been here very long.”

“Every damn minute is excruciating because I want to get out of here and be alone with you.”

“Patience. Gee, how are you a livestock agent if you don’t have patience?”

“I have plenty of patience on my job. It’s you I have a problem with.”

Dylan laughed. “Well, at least I’ll be behaving now.”

“I seriously doubt that.”

“I’ll try.”

“Good enough. Let’s go talk to some more people then get the hell out of here. There are other things I’d rather be doing.”

“Yeah, like what?”

“You. I’d rather be doing you,” he said, and laughed when she punched his arm.

He took her hand, led her back to the crowd, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon.

He grinned when he saw his father carrying Zoey around. It looked like she was going to be spoiled by his father. Alex would spoil her and Dylan too. They hoped to have more children and he was looking forward to working on that with her.

Who knew when he’d gone to investigate a stolen bull, he’d find the love of his life? He smirked as he remembered her not wanting a cowboy, and he couldn’t be happier that he’d changed her mind.

Epilogue

Dylan stared at her reflection in the mirror and smiled. The gown she’d picked fit her like a glove. She never thought she’d be here again, and especially with a cowboy. Shaking her head, she found it hard to believe that she’d fallen in love with another cowboy. But not just any cowboy. A good one who she knew would love her for the rest of his life.

“You look so beautiful,” Marlowe said as she stood beside her.

“So do you,” Dylan said with a smile. “Both of you.”

“Of course, we do,” Peyton said and laughed.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Dylan shook her head.

“He’s a good man, Dylan,” Peyton said.

“This coming from you? A woman who thinks cowboys are not good men.”
