Reaching the hidden entrance, Nate barely touched the panel, then stopped, hearing the conversation more clearly. He stared at the others, then realized exactly who was in the room.

“What the hell are you doing here?”

“Oh, come now, Mr. President. Did you think we wouldn’t find out who you really are?” said Judge.

“You? You’re part of this?” he asked, surprised.

“I’ve always been a part of this. You’re not the only one who has a past. Mine is a bit more colorful, I suppose, but still. I have a past. Yours, however, is far more interesting.”

“Let’s see if I have this straight,” said Judge. “You were just a boy. What? Seven, maybe eight? Never mind, it doesn’t matter. I didn’t remember that Victoria had a brother. I thought she was an only child. It was something Morrison said that made me realize we’d overlooked someone in that equation. I remember my father telling your father that he’d owe us another one when the time came. Except the other one was you.”

“That’s right, you sick bastard. You forced my parents to give me up to an orphanage in order to save me from your sick games.”

“Oh, come now, Mr. President. Don’t judge unless you’ve actually tried it,” smirked the man. “You might have enjoyed our parties.”

“You won’t leave here alive,” he said, staring at the men.

“I think we will,” said Judge. “You see, right now, the entire staff is sound asleep. It seems everyone here enjoys their tea or coffee in the morning. Everyone. A simple, tasteless powder, and they’re all fast asleep.”

The president stared at the two men, swallowing. Where the fuck was Robicheaux and his team?

“You’re going to get me to G.R.I.P., and then we’re going to tell the whole world what a tragic accident you had,” said Judge.

“That might be hard to do when you’re dead.” The two men turned, staring at the identical men coming through the hidden panel.

“Jesus, who the fuck are you two?”

“Us? Oh, I’m Nathan Redhawk, married to the beautiful Harlow. And this is my twin brother, Mike Redhawk.” The two men took another step into the room, and from behind them, five more men entered.

“Wh-who are they? Why do you all look alike?” stuttered Judge.

“You really didn’t look at those documents very well, did you?” said Joseph. “I am Joseph Redhawk, and this is my twin, Nathan. Behind me are my sons. Tobias and JB Redhawk. But you need not fear us. The man you should fear is the man now standing behind you with the very large, very sharp knife.”

Both men turned quickly, staring into the blackest eyes of anyone they’d ever seen.

“Meet my grandfather. Joseph ‘Trak’ Redhawk. We are the Redhawk men. Proud Diné. Proud Delta.” Both men swallowed, shaking their heads.

“You betrayed us,” said Trak, staring at the man beside Judge. “I do not forgive betrayal.”

“Trak, listen, it’s not what it seems,” said Paul.

“Isn’t it? You were a SEAL. Once an honorable man. Now, you’re with the FBI, helping these men. Were you playing Castelloni and Yergonov as well?”

“They’re criminals. I was trying to get information from them.”

“And you allowed them free reign of the country while you were doing that. Favors for favors, right, Paul?”

“He’s not who you think he is!” yelled Judge.

“I know who he is,” said Nate. “He is the brother of Victoria Demais, and he is about to see his wish fulfilled. I am going to kill you.”

“You can’t do that. Not here,” said Paul. “If you kill an agent of the FBI, you’ll never have peace.”

“Do you really think that anyone will care once they know what happened here?” asked Cam, coming through the secret panel. “You were a teammate. A fucking SEAL!”

“Cam, please,” he begged, raising his hands.

“Nate is right. You’re going to die here, and I’m going to be happy to wipe you from this earth. But first, you’re going to give me the names of every man involved in this.”
