Not wasting another moment, Saint grabbed my hand, then we raced towards the trail. Even though we were getting Cree, so that he could help us look for Lulee, I still felt like I was leaving her behind somehow. Now that I knew what the Clarks were all about, I felt like I should be looking for her, instead of searching for Cree.

As soon as we got halfway down the trail, we saw Cree coming out of the trees, his hands wrapped around the rope. I looked around, and a few more feet away, I saw another rope tied to one of the warning posts, though no Kevin or Richard.

“Oh, hey,” Cree said as soon as he saw us. “I was just-”

“Lulee’s missing,” Saint told him, not wasting any time. “We need to find her, then get the fuck out of here, Cree.”

Immediately dropping the rope, we all fell into step back down the trail. “What’s going on?” he asked, though he didn’t stop walking. “Did she decide to go look for Sarah-”

“Sarah’s not missing, Cree,” I told him, my voice cracking.”

“What-”

“Marilyn and Donovan have her,” Saint informed him. “They’re...we just need to find Lulee first. After that, we get the girls to safety, then we can help Kevin and Sarah.”

“Safety?” As soon as we reached the courtyard, Cree stopped. “What the fuck is going on, Saint?”

“They’ve got Sarah, and they’re...they’re doing things to her,” I finally told him. “They’re in the maintenance shed, and they’re…”

“We’ll explain later,” Saint told him. “We need to find Luleenow, Cree.”

After deciding to trust that we knew what we were doing, Cree stopped asking questions, following us back towards the lobby. I had no idea where to search for her, and I’d been so shocked and horrified at seeing Donovan raping Sarah that I hadn’t thought to look around the rest of the maintenance shed.

“The storage room,” Saint blurted. “They wouldn’t hide her in any of the cabins because they’re too available to us.” He looked between me and Cree. “If she’s not in the maintenance shed, she can only be in the employee areas only.”

All three of us rushed over to the dining hall, and we weren’t quiet or careful as we all took off in our own direction, searching for Lulee. All I could hear were doors slamming open and shut, and when Saint called out to us, I could feel the bile in my stomach rising again.

Please, God, let her be okay.

When I hurried through the back kitchen and towards another storage room, I ran inside to find Lulee tied to a chair, Saint and Cree rushing to free her from her restraints. However, she wasn’t alone in the room, and my entire body broke out in a clammy sweat at the pair of green eyes looking up at me.

Trevor Bison.

Chapter 25

Saint~

If the girls weren’t here, I’d hunt Richard, Donovan, and Marilyn Clark down like the rabid animals that they were. I would have no problem ridding the world of their evil, sleeping like a baby afterwards. Verity and Lulee were never going to be the same again, and it was going to take years to come to terms with this fucking horror.

As soon as we ripped the tape from Lulee’s mouth and freed her, she threw herself in Cree’s arms. “Cree,” she sobbed. “Oh, God.”

His arms wrapped around her like he was never going to let her go again. “I’ve got you, Lulee,” he growled. “I’ve got you.”

“We need to get the girls out of here now,” I said. “Who the fuck knows-”

“Saint?”

I turned at Verity’s voice. “Fuck.” I rushed over, pulling her into my arms. “Don’t look, baby.”

“Oh, God…” she choked out, and this shit was so fucking insane.

Turning, so that she couldn’t see the body on the floor, I looked to see that Trevor Bison had been gutted. For whatever reason, they hadn’t just shot or stabbed him. He’d been filleted like an animal, his insides visible with the way that they had butchered him. My only hope was that they had killed him before slicing him wide open.

Pulling Verity tighter in my arms, I turned toward Lulee. “Did they do that to him while you were in here?”

Lulee shook her head, her pale face streaked with tears and terror. “No,” she cried. “He was already lying there when they pulled me in here. But…but they said that if I tried to escape or screamed for help that I’d be next.”

“Who did this?” I asked.
