Not thirty seconds later, I felt the bed sink on either side of me. My eyes popped open, and I said, “No, no way. Get the heck out.” I pushed my hands against the immovable bodies beside me.

“Hush,” Carlo said as he pulled me into him.

I gasped and turned my head, “I will not hush. You need to go find somewhere else to sleep. Like in one of the other billion bedrooms in your castle.”

His half-lidded eyes glared at me. “I’m sleeping here. Now go to sleep.”

I tried to push out of his arms, but he wouldn’t let me. “Okay, fine. Then I’ll go find another room to sleep in.”

This time I shoved my arm harder against his chest—but, no luck. He was way stronger than I was.

“Sweetheart, I’m sorry.” Stefan moved closer and ran his fingers into my hair at the side of my face. “I shouldn’t have put you in that situation today. You’re right,” his forehead touched mine, “I fucked up.” His lips touched mine in a chaste kiss. “But the thought of you carrying my baby—well, that just did something to my brain.”

The tenderness in his voice surrounded some of the anger floating through my veins. And I stilled. “It did something to your cock, too.”

Stefan chuckled, his warm breath washing over my face. “I couldn’t stop myself.”

“Yeah, I noticed.” I inhaled a deep, calming breath and said, “Thank you for your apology, but I still want you guys to sleep somewhere else tonight.”

Carlo’s arms clamped tighter around me. “That’s not going to happen.”

I knew I couldn’t win physically against these men. So, I tried again. “I would really appreciate it if you guys let me sleep alone tonight.”

Stefan kissed my forehead. “He’s right, that’s not going to happen.”

I let out an irritated sigh. “I’m asking both of you to give me some time alone. And you’re not listening to me.”

Carlo’s hand ran down my side and landed on my thigh. “Get used to it.”

“Get used to it is not a solution, Carlo. I’m not asking for the world here.”

His lips kissed the shell of my ear. “We’re here to give you the fucking world. Now give it up and go to sleep. I’m beat.”

I wanted to slug these men in the guts.

I also wanted to kiss the crap out of them.

“You can yell at us more in the morning.” Stefan gave me one more quick kiss. “But Carlo’s right, we’re sleeping here.”

These men.

“I just can’t win, can I?” I muttered out as the fight drained out of me and pure exhaustion settled in. I couldn’t even keep my eyes open anymore.

“Sure feels like you won, though. Right, sweetheart?” Stefan asked, but my mind was already only halfway here. And halfway in dreamland.

I wasn’t sure if I responded or not.

But part of me agreed with Stefan.

Laying in between these two men who loved me, and would fight to the death for me—I did feel like I’d won.

It was too bad it couldn’t last.

“Oh, my gosh, you look like a princess,” Eve said as I walked down Carlo’s winding staircase.
