Her head nodded as she smirked up at me. “Yeah, thank you. That was amazing. Do you want to go home now? And I can,” she said, letting her hand find my hardness, “deal with you more privately?” The way she talked and handled me, I nearly took her up on her generous offer.

Instead, I shook my head. “No, I’m fine. That was for you,” I said, my eyes gazing over her gorgeous, sated face. “This whole day is for you.”

She linked her fingers behind my neck and drew me closer to her. The kiss she gave me was an unfamiliar one, but it felt as though she was showing me exactly how grateful she was.

Amazingly, we stuck it out until the end of the movie marathon. Which ended at one-thirty in the morning.

Cherry watched about half of the movies.

The rest of the time, she slept.

In my arms.

When I woke her after the credits rolled on the last show, she said, “I wasn’t sleeping, I just had to rest my eyes for a minute.”

That made me chuckle and kiss her quickly on the lips. “Anything you say.”

No one else ever did show up in the theater.

Either that was pure luck—or the few hundred bucks I’d tipped the ticket guy had done the trick.

I’d guess it was the latter, based on the long wink he gave me as we left the building.

“Youstillhaven’t slept with him?” Giselle asked, screwing up her face as she frowned. “What is up with that? Do you think he’s so old he can’t get it up anymore?”

I giggled out loud at that. “Trust me, I felt how hard he was last night at the movies.” And wasn’t that the truth? I’d never had a physical interaction like that in public before. But Nick had finally seemed in the mood—and I know I certainly was.

Why he wouldn’t let me take care of him even after we got home, remained a mystery to me. It also weighed significantly on my mind for many reasons. None of which I wanted to discuss with my friend.

For one thing, I worried that he’d lost interest in me physically. Maybe he’d bought the milk and discovered he’d grown tired of that particular cow.

And now he was still stuck with me for weeks.

Another thing I worried about was that he would terminate our agreement early.

I needed the money.

Yes.

But, I also loved being around Nick. The thought of leaving him before our agreed upon time made me queasy inside.

Yeah, he was slightly odd and particular about certain things. And no, I didn’t know what his job actually was. However, spending time with him was something I really looked forward to.

If that came to an end—I mean, whenthat came to an end—I already knew how sad I was going to feel.

So, I really didn’t want to pack up and go home now.

Home.

That was another reason I needed this to work out.

A lot of people were depending on me earning this money. If I messed up—I didn’t want to think of what might happen.

As I blew out a long breath, my hair fluttered off my face.
