“Elope?”
My voice was so small I didn’t recognize it. I didn’t even know when the wedding was supposed to take place.
“Yes… An elopement.”
He waited a long moment before he spoke again. “I am a cheater, a fraud. Do you think I really want to stand in front of hundreds of people and swear to love, honor, and cherish while I am fucking someone else? Eloping is an easy way out.”

Rubbing my forehead, I stared at the shadows of the room. Why was I here if he was planning on marrying Katja? I needed to leave. I’d call a taxi, Hayden. Hell, I’d risk it and call Reagan if I had to.
I placed a hand on my chest, holding myself. I felt like I was suffocating.
“No,” he said, reaching for me before I could take a step. “Do not do this.”
I knocked his hand away, but he was quick and pulled my shirt, yanking me to the bed. The seam snapped and I fell back. My heart beat against my ribs, tears blurred my vision. He was willingly marrying someone else, moving up the date even, and yet he held me like he only loved me. A marriage could be dissolved, but Kova was really going through with it because, at the end of the day, he had to truly love Katja. The thought sickened me to the core. This was serious, and now it all made sense. I was just a plaything for when Katja wasn’t around to give him what he needed.
The realization viciously struck my heart. I wanted to fall into a grave and die.
Kova was an idiot. And a bastard.
God, it hurt. I knew it shouldn’t. He hadn’t promised me anything, and I knew where we stood.
I thrashed against him, pushing at his neck with the palm of my hand to get him to move. He only burrowed closer to me. Kova was such an asshole. His thighs nudged my knees open and he settled against my hips. Kova yelled at me to stop, but I was too upset.
“Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?” I spat, trying to hit him. “Disgusted that you could go through with this? What is she? Pregnant? Do you just unload your cum in everyone and pray for the best? Tears threatened to fill my eyes, but I pushed them down.

His skin broke under my fingers, but he didn’t flinch.
“Your ethics are fucked up,” I said. “How can you tell lie after lie and never feel bad about it?”
Leaning in, I bit his arm and he grunted and yanked away. I rocked my hips from side to side to show him my resistance, but it only backfired.
