The roller coaster jerks forward, and I grip the safety bar with white knuckles. My heart is pounding so loudly I swear Hudson can hear it. As the cart begins its climb, I suck in a deep breath, bracing myself for what’s to come.

“Ready for this?” Hudson shouts over the roaring wind as we reach the top.

“Absolutely not!” I yell back, but my voice is swallowed by the swooping descent that follows.

I scream, my whole body tense as we plummet down the first hill. Adrenaline courses through my veins, amplifying every sensation and making it impossible to keep my eyes closed. Despite my terror, I can’t help but feel a strange thrill as the cart whips around corners and soars over hills.

Hudson, on the other hand, is thoroughly enjoying himself. He whoops with delight, his laughter mixing with my screams as we race along the track. His eyes are alight with mischief, and I’m drawn to him even in the midst of my fear.

“Harper, look at me!” he calls out, reaching for my hand as the roller coaster takes a sharp turn.

I force myself to turn my head, locking eyes with Hudson as our hands find each other amidst the chaos. The intensity of his gaze sends a shiver down my spine, making me momentarily forget the terror surrounding us.

“See? It’s not so bad.” He grins, giving my hand a reassuring squeeze.

“Speak for yourself!” I shout, another scream ripping from my throat as we plunge into a corkscrew loop.

“Harper, you’re doing great,” Hudson encourages me, his voice a mixture of excitement and amusement as we head up a final peak.

“Easy for you to say!” I snap back, feeling my stomach churn with every inch we climb.

Just as the coaster reaches the peak, I brace myself for the fall. But before gravity takes over, Hudson catches me by surprise. He leans in, pressing his lips against mine in a searing kiss that makes my head spin and my body tingle. The sensation is electrifying, a shock wave of desire rushing through me like a bolt of lightning.

“Wha—?” I gasp, unable to form any coherent words as the coaster plummets downward.

Hudson’s laughter echoes through my ears, mingling with the rush of wind and the sound of my own screams. Heat rises in my cheeks, both from the thrill of the ride and the intensity of our stolen kiss.

“Enjoying it now, are you?” he teases, grinning wickedly as the roller coaster whips around a corner.

“Shut up!” I retort, trying to play off my embarrassment. But deep down, I know he’s right. Despite my fear, there’s something exhilarating about this moment—the danger, the adrenaline, and most of all, Hudson’s unexpected passion.

As the roller coaster finally comes to a stop, I let out a shaky breath. My limbs feel like jelly as I attempt to stand, but Hudson is there to steady me, his strong arms wrapping around my waist.

“See? Not so bad after all.” He smirks, his eyes dancing with delight.

“Maybe not so bad,” I admit, still trying to catch my breath. “But don’t expect me to go on another one anytime soon.”

“Fair enough,” he chuckles, guiding me off the coaster and back onto solid ground. I can’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over me as we leave the ride behind, but there’s also a lingering sense of anticipation—an undeniable spark ignited by Hudson’s daring kiss.

The moment my feet touch solid ground again, I feel a strange mix of relief and exhilaration. My heart is still pounding in my chest as we make our way over to the photo booth where they display pictures taken during the ride.

“Aw, look at this one,” Hudson says with a chuckle, pointing to a picture of me screaming with my hands gripping the safety bar for dear life. “You’re so adorable when you’re terrified.”

“Hey!” I protest, pretending to be offended while secretly agreeing that it looks hilarious. “It was scary!”

“Sure it was,” he teases, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “But it wasn’t all bad, was it?”

As he speaks, his gaze shifts to another photo—and my breath catches in my throat. There, captured in perfect clarity, is the moment our lips met amidst the chaos and adrenaline of the roller coaster. The world around us seems to fade away, leaving only the two of us locked in an intimate embrace.

“Wow,” I whisper, unable to tear my eyes away from the image. A flood of heat rushes through me, and I can practically feel the ghost of Hudson’s lips on mine once more.

“Want a copy?” he asks, his voice low and sultry in my ear. It sends shivers down my spine.

“Um, yeah,” I stammer, trying to maintain some semblance of composure. “I guess it would be a good souvenir.”

“Definitely something to remember today by,” Hudson agrees with a grin. He purchases both photos, handing one to me. As I take it, our fingers brush against each other, reigniting the spark between us.

“Thanks,” I mumble, feeling my cheeks flame with embarrassment. Desperate to hide my blushing face, I quickly stuff the picture into my pocket, hoping no one else will catch a glimpse of our secret moment.
