My heart races at the thought of joining her in the bath, our bodies entwined beneath the steamy water, the scent of lavender oil surrounding us. It’s a temptation that’s nearly impossible to resist, but I know I should give her time to recover from last night’s session. It’s crazy that I just had her hours ago, yet I want her all over again. I’m never going to get tired of her.

“Antonio?” Harper calls out from the bathroom, her voice laced with equal parts curiosity and vulnerability.

“Everything okay in there?” I ask, moving closer to the door, my hand resting on the cool wood.

“Can you join me? My shoulders could really use that massage.” The temptation is just too great, and I give in, stripping off my clothes as I cross the threshold into the steamy bathroom.

“I think I can help with that,” I murmur, my heart pounding with anticipation.

So much for trying to take it easy and let her heal.

HARPER

Istand in the middle of my bedroom, my damp hair clinging to my neck as I clutch a towel around me. The bed is covered with an array of outfits, each one carefully laid out as though they’re auditioning for the lead role in my life. My eyes scan over the clothes, unable to settle on just one.

“Harper,” Antonio’s voice calls from the doorway, startling me before he opens the door and moves inside, “what’s taking you so long?”

“Antonio!” I exclaim, spinning around to face him. “You can’t be in here while I’m changing.”

“Nothing I haven’t seen before, cariña,” he chuckles, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed over his broad chest. His dark hair is swept back, and he’s wearing a simple black shirt and jeans that somehow manage to make him look effortlessly sexy. “I didn’t mean to startle you.”

My cheeks flush as I catch him stealing a glance at my barely covered body. “I’m just trying to pick out what to wear. Ugh, I don’t even know what kind of event we’re going to,” I say, waving a hand toward the outfits on my bed. “How am I supposed to choose the right outfit when I have no idea what to expect?” Frustrated, I let my hands fall to my sides and look up at Antonio.

His eyes are soft and understanding as he steps further into the room. “I think it’s safe to assume it’ll be an artsy event. That’s usually Isabella’s style.”

“Really?” I ask, feeling slightly more at ease now that I can narrow down my choices. My fingers twitch with the urge to touch him, to close the gap between us, but I resist for now.

Antonio nods. “Yeah, so why not go casual? I’m sure you’ll look amazing in anything you choose.” His gaze travels down my body again, making me feel exposed yet strangely powerful.

Despite Antonio’s suggestion, I can’t shake the uncertainty gnawing at me. I glance over my shoulder and catch his eye, feeling vulnerable in my towel-clad state. “I don’t know, Antonio. What if it’s not casual? What if I’m underdressed?”

“Harper.” Antonio chuckles softly, the timbre of his voice sending shivers down my spine. “If you keep worrying, I’ll have no choice but to keep you in bed all night and do far more entertaining things.” His eyes darken with mischief, and I feel a familiar heat rising within me.

“Is that a promise?” I tease, knowing full well the effect he has on me. He smirks, clearly enjoying our flirtatious banter.

“Maybe it is, cariña,” he replies playfully, stepping closer to me. His fingers brush against my hip, making me tremble with anticipation. As he moves past me toward the door, he lands a quick slap on my ass, causing me to jump in surprise and delight. The sting quickly melts into warmth, and I can’t help but grin.

“Alright, alright,” I concede, shaking my head as I watch him leave the room. “Casual it is.”

I keep grinning as I rummage through my wardrobe once again, searching for the perfect outfit. My fingers brush against a pair of denim overalls, and I pause, considering them. They’re comfortable and stylish, yet casual enough for whatever this artsy event may be.

Paired with a simple white shirt and a pair of colorful sneakers that Petra picked out for me, I think it’ll strike just the right balance between playful and chic. Satisfied, I slip into the outfit and give myself a once-over in the mirror. The overalls hug my curves just right without being overly revealing, and the shirt adds a touch of innocence to the ensemble.

“Harper?” Antonio calls from outside the door, making me jump slightly. “Are you almost ready?”

“Coming!” I reply, taking one last glance at my reflection before answering the door. As soon as I open it, Antonio’s gaze travels down my body, his eyes lingering on the curve of my hips.

“Wow,” he breathes, a slow smile spreading across his face. “You look beautiful, cariña.”

“Really?” I ask, unable to hide the uncertainty in my voice. It’s hard not to second-guess my choice when his eyes hold such intensity. But Antonio simply nods, his expression serious.

“I’d never lie to you,” he reassures me, reaching out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear.

Antonio’s lips descend on mine, a soft, tender kiss that sends shivers down my spine. I close my eyes and melt into him, savoring the warmth of his body and the taste of his mouth. It’s intoxicating, thrilling, and all too brief—he pulls away far too soon, leaving me breathless and wanting more.

“Come on,” he murmurs, his hand slipping into mine. “Keeping my sister waiting is not an option.”
