Juniper

“How is it? Not too bad right?” Whitney asked, sitting next to June in the chair with a needle buzzing on her outer thigh.

“No actually.”

“Does Wolfie know you're doing this?”

“Hm, no. We talked about it, but he hates the idea of couple tattoos.”

“I literally have ‘Fade’ tattooed on my ass.” She pointed to the spot.

June laid still, “Whitney, that doesn’t surprise me.”

“I’m just saying, when you know, you know.” Whitney slid her phone out of her pocket, “But, he knows now.”

“What?” June refrained from moving her leg.

“I sent him a picture.” She didn’t seem phased by her action.

Juniper's phone started ringing in her bag, “Whitney!”

“Fine, I’ll answer it.” She picked it up rolling her eyes as she quickly tapped it against June’s hand, not letting her grip it. “Hello? Yes. The salon. Murphy. Bye.”

“He’s on his way.” She set June’s phone back down. “Let me see.” She stood behind Murphy. “I think he’s going to love it.”

Five minutes passed and Wolfie entered the salon, “Are you kidding me?” He paced towards June.

“Hey Wolfgang, what up?” Murphy didn’t look up, trying to ease whatever tension may arise.

“Hi Murphy.” He stood next to Whitney to inspect the project. “Wha - June! I thought we agreed.”

“Too damn bad. I’m not going anywhere. You’re stuck with me.” She blushed at her rebellion.

“Okay, if that’s how you want to play.” He sighed and looked at the one line artwork tattoo on the side of her thigh, a wolf howling towards a star. “Murphy, do you have any openings next week?” he smirked.

Chapter Thirty Six

August Eighteenth

Wolfgang

After settling into their new routine, he was happy, he loved having June at his place, their place. The last few days he had a thought and Wolfgang got curious. He was wondering if juniper still had an account since she left and came back. He assumed she did since her chip worked but wondered about the information and if her ex boyfriend was still noted on it. After the job he had worked on, he went out to his Jeep and pulled out his tablet to find her account. Everything looked the same except for her address, he quickly changed it to his and tapped on her notes. The same bullet points were there, seamstress, no living family, abusive ex boyfriend. The last one caught his eye, terminated pregnancy. Wolfgang read it several times and then checked the last time her account had been edited, it dated back to May. He was curious, angry and wondered why June had never told him. He looked at the date again, May sixteenth. June had been given the memory loss injection on May Thirteenth, hewatchedthem take her from him that moment. Was Margaret behind this? Did June know? If she remembered everything, wouldn't she remember a whole pregnancy? Wolfie started his Jeep and steered it towards Margaret's office, he wanted to talk to her anyway.

"Hello," Atlee the receptionist greeted him, "I don't think we have any tickets open for repairs?"

"I'm here to talk to Margaret and no, she isn't expecting me." He ran his hand along his fresh haircut.

Atlee picked up the phone, "Margaret, Wolfgang is here to speak with you. Okay." She hung the phone up.

"She's available," her palm gestured to the back.

"Thank you." He trailed behind her desk and down the hall reaching her open office door.

"Wolfgang, how are you? What can I help you with?"

He closed the door behind him, "Margaret, I wanted to talk to you about something I found out."

“What is it?”
