I am just so confused by this situation and really do not want to be fired. I have grown to care deeply for Maisey and I wish to continue to work for you.

I do not know what to think from her words. It is clear that she knows who I am but she did not know before taking the job. So, Cam is definitely not after revenge or my money.
Cam did have a point about me knowing as well.
I recognized her right away but just could not place her face.

Not wanting to leave Cam feeling embarrassed and unsure, I type out my own email.
Dear Cam,
You have no need to apoligze. It should be me saying sorry. I over reacted when I knew you knew me but that is no excusebecause I already knew who you were. I was just afraid that if I told you I knew you would quit.
You do not need to worry about losing your job. Maisey loves you and I appreciate all that you have done for our family so you can keep being Maisey’s nanny if that is what you want.
I was also scared because of the way I treated you when you were growing up. I know I could be mean and cruel and I worried if you knew it was me, you would think differently of me.
I want to apologize for the way I was when I was younger. I promise that I am a different man now and I hope to prove that to you.

Sending that email feels weird but it also makes me feel lighter. As if a weight is lifted from my soul. I no longer feel confused. Everything has been cleared up between Cam and I. She will remain Maisey’s nanny and things can return back to normal.
Turning my head to the side, I crack my neck just as my computer dings. Alerting me yet another email.

I quickly skim the rest of the article and am shocked to see images of Cam, Maisey, and I at the mall. The article claims that Cam is my fiancé but they do not name her by name. They just refer to her as mystery woman.
My heart aches at the images. I hate drama and especially drama that includes my daughter. I hope Maisey never sees this article.
I slam my computer shut and inhale.
There is no way this is happening.
I already have to deal with all the Nicoli drama of her accusing me of being abusive, but now everyone things I have a new fiancé.
