With my focus on Tristan, I followed him down the stairs to the front of the house. Dash stood on the other side of the door, unable to see in, though we knew he was there.

Tristan stopped before he reached for the doorknob. “You do it.”

“Why me? You live here too.”

“It’s our first date. This feels huge.”

“It does, but not in a bad way. Open the door, Tris. We won’t know where he’s taking us until you do.”

Tristan unlocked the deadbolt, then placed his hand on the doorknob, giving it a slow turn. The door opened to reveal Dash on the other side with a smile that could stop traffic.

“Gentlemen, are you ready for a fun night out?” he asked.

Fuck, he was handsome, and it wasn’t even like he’d dressed up. He had on a pair of black shorts with threads hanging on the bottoms. A burnt orange T-shirt spanned his chest and hugged his arms. Sunglasses perched on top of his head, reflecting the evening sunlight. His hair was pulled back in a bun.

“Where are we going?” Tristan asked as he stepped outside.

I took the keys from my pocket and locked the door when I followed him out.

Dash walked to the SUV parked on the curb and opened the door, sweeping his arm in invitation. “Who’s riding up front?”

“You can, Tris,” I said and gave him a nudge. He held Dash’s hand while he got inside.

Reaching for the back door handle, I was about to pull it open when Dash was there, tapping my wrist until I released it. “This is a date, Romeo. I’m supposed to open doors for you.”

I didn’t bother fighting the smile that bloomed. “Thank you.” He closed me in when I was seated, then got in as well in the front.

“This spot just opened up when I arrived,” he said.

“People might not like to walk down this block, but parking is a premium,” I told him. My hand brushed the dark leather seat. The SUV was large and smelled like it was just driven off the dealer’s lot. “Is this yours?”

He nodded and pulled into traffic. “I picked it up yesterday. I can’t take two men on a date on the back of my Harley.”

“We were wondering if you had a sidecar.”

“Nope, but I have this now, so we all fit.”

“Wait,” Tristan cut in. “You bought this for our date?”

“Sort of?” A hint of color blossomed on his cheek. “I should have something for winter instead of riding with Slay or borrowing his truck. Since we live next door to each other, we leave together a lot.”

“It’s a Lexus,” Tristan stated, still obviously in awe of the extravagance we were sitting in. Three rows, supple leather, it wasn’t a compact SUV. This was top-of-the-line.

Dash hummed. “I don’t know much about vehicles. I searched online for a luxury SUV, and this came up, so I went to the dealer.”

“You talk about it like it’s a pair of jeans.”

“The band does well, which means we have money. I don’t spend it on a lot of things. My bikes, the house, if I see something I like.” He turned to Tristan and winked. God, he was charming. No wonder I got swept away the first time I met him.

“But it’s a date. We’re not moving in and having kids.” Tristan peered over his shoulder to survey the rest of the SUV. “You can fit so many people in here.”

Dash tapped the touchscreen on the dashboard. “I think this fucker will fly if I find the right button. How the hell does anyone drive this? I like my bike. Everything is where I need it to be and nothing fancy.”

“There’s something to be said for safety,” I said from the back.

“You drive a little two-door car,” Tristan pointed out.

“I do, but I have the Land Rover too.” I didn’t go to a lot of places, mainly work. The grocery store, pharmacy, and typical places people went I avoided, preferring to shop online and have it delivered. The only reason I was in the coffee shop the day I met Tristan was because I was craving a caramel latte.
