Lev straps two guns to his chest. Although he's not an expert marksman, his training with Nessa has vastly improved his skills. Always one to compensate though, he straps four trigger point explosives to his belt.

Evie has her knives, a gun, and two explosives. And Damien might as well be wearing concrete shoes because he has so many weapons on that I am surprised he can move. But somehow, the man makes it look easy.

“You satisfied, Princess?” I gesture to all of our gear, but she shakes her head.

“I would be satisfied if Damien hadn’t edged me all morning and if we were going with backup, but I guess this will have to do.”

She walks past me with an attitude and I shake my head. I appreciate her understanding and not holding a grudge against me for this, but her damn attitude is going to make me turn her ass blue.

Before she can get out the door, I snatch her by the hair and Damien chuckles. I can tell Evie is holding back because she doesn’t fight the move either.

“I may have let Damien have the fun last night because it was his birthday, but make no mistake, Princess. I have a tally of spankings I am more than willing to cash in on right here.”

She grins, and I have to suppress a laugh. Damn, Damien got her riled up. I have never seen her so ready to ride our dicks before. I tilt her head back further until her blown pupils meet mine.

“When we get back tonight, I want you ready for us. Got it?”

Her nostrils flare, and I smirk down at her as she’s nearly bent in half for me. “Yes, Daddy.”

I lean down and kiss her before helping her to stand. “Good girl.”

We all might owe Damien a thank you for this later on. It makes me want to look more into edging.

Lev comes up beside our girl and whispers something in her ear before they both glance back at us.

“Deal,” she says, just loud enough for us to hear.

???

The ride to the cemetery was uneventful, just as I suspected. Evie seems to be convinced this is the perfect place to lay a trap, but I just do not see it. We exit the car with my father, and I am surprised to see Ivan standing out here too.

After he told us the truth, he and Lev were able to talk. He is no longer locked up, but he is required to check in with someone on the team daily. He also now has a tracker in his neck so we know if he decides to switch sides again. While I think his intentions are genuine, I have not yet decided if he deserves forgiveness.

Lev has, in no way forgiven him, but he is working on understanding. Dr. K has been helping him and talking with his father as well.

I give a nod of acknowledgement to Ivan but continue on my way. Their graves are not far apart on the plot of land at the top of the hill, but they stand enough apart that Evie looks split between us. Taking her hand, I pull her close as I place a kiss atop of her head.

“Let me introduce you to my mother as my wife, then go and be with them.”

She leans into me, her attitude and worry slipping away as we approach my mother’s headstone. It is really three headstones together, the outer two resembling black stained glass windowsand the center is obsidian. A glass frame encases a picture of her in the middle and preserved flowers from the day of her death.

“Hello, Mother. I would like to introduce you to Evie, my wife.”

Evie smiles at my mother, reading her headstone.

“Thank you for raising a good one for me, Vera.”

My father lays a hand on Evie’s shoulder.

“She always loved you too, you know. How she looked at you was one of the reasons I wanted you to marry Alexi. You just seemed to fit with us.”

“A mother always knows,” Evie says. “I remember my mother telling me once that the man I would marry was perfect for me in every way.”

She looks up at me. “Now I have three men, all perfect in their own ways.”

We stand there for a minute together and let some of the good overtake the bad. Today does not only have to be a day of sadness and mourning. It can be a day filled with sharing the joys of our lives with the people we have lost.

Damien sits down in front of his mother’s grave, a tall white piece of marble. Lev sets some of his paintings down by his mother’s gray headstone while Ivan sits back in the grass.
