“I’ll do that when you stop baiting Alexi into chasing you through the woods until your feet are sore and broken open.”

I glare at him. “That was only like three times.”

“So far.”

I ignore him because he’s right. I love the chase too much to give that up. The pain in my feet when I forget my shoes just adds to the thrill of it all.

“Talk to me, Little Shadow.”

I let out a long breath. “I just feel bad. Like this is all my fault.”

He scrunches up his nose and pats the spot beside him. Carefully, I scoot closer, but he pulls me to his side the second I’m within reach.

“Don’t overdo it,” I snap. “Please, just rest, Sunshine.”

“It’s not like I’ve come home from war injured. I had a vasectomy. Plenty of men survive them just fine.”

Alexi enters the room, throwing the pillow left in his chair at Damien.

“Yeah, but we all knew you would have to bitch and moan about it. It is why I voted for them to knock you the fuck out for the day.”

Damien laughs as if that was a joke, but the look on Alexi’s face tells me it definitely is not.

“I was back at work the next day as if nothing happened. I do not understand why you are acting like your dick was maimed.”

“We can’t all be super robots like you, Lex.”

He tosses the pillow back, but Alexi catches it before it hits him.

“You could definitely try much harder.”

I let my head fall to Damien’s shoulder as they banter back and forth. It’s soothing to hear them bicker. Lev comes back down from upstairs with Damien’s favorite blanket and pillow.

We all settle on the couch, right as Lev teases Damien.

“Careful there, babe. Your balls might swell to the size of your ego if you don’t sit back down and relax.”

I chuckle as he winks at me. I get my birth control removed next month, so the guys made sure we were prepared. Lev took a few tests that confirmed he was sterile, and Alexi had a check up to confirm his vasectomy was still intact. But Damien had to get snipped.

Not only did he make ahugedeal about it over the past week, but he’s still milking it now, asking us to get little things for him. I don’t mind though. I’ll do anything to ensure these men are mine, and mine alone for the rest of our lives.

???

“Whatcha painting?” I ask, serving Lev his breakfast on a tray. He’s sitting out on the balcony with a large canvas, a view of the whole city before him.

“Nothing yet.”

He places his brush down and turns to me. I set the tray beside us on the table and pull him in for a hug. I will never get enough of the peace and comfort this man brings me.

Running everything has taken its toll on us as we adjust, but Lev keeps his warm embrace a constant for me every morning.

I pull back to look at him and slip a package out from behind my back.

“Happy birthday, Ghost.”

He smiles at me, taking the package.

“What’s this?”
